Dear Parents and Carers, We have reached the final month of the school year and there are lots of exciting things planned. Today an opera company is performing Don Pasquale to Year 5 in our downstairs hall! Please search your child’s bag for letters and check our website for latest news. We have had another hard working year at Pinner Wood and when you receive your child's results and report I hope you are pleased. Read, Write, Inc has been a tremendous success this year and something we are going to build on next year. During the Autumn term there will be a maths focus and a maths parents evening, lead by Miss Patel and lots of information about our new style FRONTER and the i- pads lead by Mrs Kirkland. As always we are working hard to improve and develop our school. To those children, parents and families leaving Pinner Wood for the last time this term, we send our love and best wishes. Deb Spruce Mrs O’Neil retires After a very happy and successful 27 years Mrs O’Neill has decided to retire from Pinner Wood. I wish to thank her for everything she has done for Pinner Wood and the children. She has been truly outstanding! I am sure you will join with me in wishing her a very long and happy retirement. Sports Day Sports Day is on Thursday 11th July starting at 9.15 am Children should come to school dressed in their P.E. Kit that day with their named water bottle and a hat, in case it is hot! We will begin with some fun activities that everyone will take part in at the same time on different parts of the playgrounds. You will be able to follow your children around and watch them. Then there will be some races for Key Stage 1 & 2 children, mums and dads. If we do have to cancel due to bad weather we will post a message on our website. Display Evening New Classes In September all the children will be moving up to their new classes. The teachers have thought very carefully about this and so some classes will remain the same and some will change. Please remember it is not On Monday 15th July our school will be open to our families and the public as we celebrate another very successful year. You will be able to see all our wonderful display work and children performing in different parts of the school. The new class lists will be on display in the downstairs hall and the staff and governors will be available to meet you. Amazing! school. New Year Group Meetings The Den End Of Year Disco We hold meetings for parents to discuss next year, if children are new or there will be significant changes from their current year. Tuesday 9th July at 2pm Nursery open day for new children and parents The Den will be celebrating the end of the year on the Friday 19th July Thank you to Mrs Williams for organising this . New Teachers In September we have 3 new teachers joining the Pinner Wood team. They have all been graded as outstanding and I am delighted they will be working with us. If you are able to help on the day, setting up or at end, please let the office know as all help will be most welcome Lost Property If you are missing any items please check the lost property, as any unclaimed items will be sent for re-cycling at the end of term. Please remember to name all items when we start back in September, preferably with sown in labels or a permanent pen so it doesn't wear off. We always have one at the office you can use. Thank you to the staff for providing a wonderful array of clubs this year. Pinner Wood clubs finish the week ending the 5th July and those provided by outside providers end on various dates please check with the club leaders. Year 6 Performances The Year 6 children will be performing their show on Tuesday 16th July at 7pm. Any parents who want to watch the dress rehearsal at 1 pm on the 15th July are welcome to do so. Please bring young children and babies to the dress rehearsal but not to the evening performance. Leavers Assembly On Friday 19th July Year 6 will be holding their leavers assembly at 9am. Everyone is welcome. Monday 22nd July is the Year 6 day out. Messages from the office Please make sure all school lunch, and ‘Den’ invoices are settled before the end of term. Please collect all medicines, creams and inhalers from welfare at the end of term. New ones should be bought in at the beginning of the Autumn Term and a new form filled in. Please make sure all music lessons have been paid for, for this current school year.
