Living Every Day Happy
“I saw a sunny Moscow full of
smiles,” said Enrique. “To sing in the
Kremlin is amazing.” The quote was
reported by China Daily on the
Internet. After his shows, Iglesias
made a video with a female Russian
singer. Traveling around the globe is
nothing new for him. He is a
superstar all over the world.
Enrique was born in Spain in
1975. His father is singing star Julio
Iglesias. When Enrique was about
eight years old, he went to live with
his dad in Miami. There he was
touched by diverse cultures. He
embraces American, Latin, and
European music. He decided to
follow his dream of a singing career.
At 17, he had already written his
own songs. “I don’t care what
language I sing in. I started to write
in English and then switched to
Spanish. I sent out demos in both
languages,” the pop star said. He
was signed to a Mexican label. His
first three albums were in Spanish.
“I would have sung in Chinese if I
had to, to get my songs released.”

He probably would have done just
that. Enrique has sung in Spanish
and English. He has also sung in
Portuguese and Italian.
Iglesias’ smooth voice lends
itself well to romantic ballads. His
albums and singles have sold millions
of copies around the world. His
concerts pack the houses.
The mega-star’s outlook on life
is simple: “To try and live every day
happy.”
