As throughout the Poe series, the artwork was created by Kevin Kallaugher (KAL) the editorial
cartoonist for The Economist magazine of London, and of Baltimore Sun fame!
Annabel Lee, Poe’s last complete poem, employs a common theme by the writer of the macabre,
the death of a young beautiful woman. The poem’s narrator has such an intense love for Annabel
Lee that “they loved with a love that was more than love…in this kingdom by the sea…and the
angels, not half so happy in heaven, went envying her and me…that the wind came out of the cloud
by night, chilling and killing my Annabel Lee.”
Annabel Lee White is a Belgian-style wheat beer made from unmalted wheat, and is spiced with
coriander and orange peel. The light, white, cloudy and tart wheat beer of 4.5% abv is the perfect
style to match the narrator’s, and possibly Poe’s, intense love for the beautiful fair maiden.
Annabel Lee White will be available in 12 oz. bottles, 13.2 gal (50L), 5.2 gal (20L) kegs and firkins.
