We are gifted to build bonds among ourselves and others in order to live the Gospel in word, worship, community and service for the salvation of all and the building of God’s kingdom. MASS SCHEDULE Saturday 4:00 PM Sunday 8:30 AM 11:00 AM Weekdays Please check for schedule in bulletin Sacrament of Reconciliation Saturday 3:00 to 3:50 PM or by appointment Religious Education Grades K – 8 Sunday On this sixteenth Sunday of ordinary time we welcome Christ our friend and guest. Today, the church reminds of the importance of hospitality. It is a Christian virtue and our duty towards others. She also reminds us of the need to pay attention to Christ our Guest. Most importantly, we are advised not to pay more attention to material things than we do to spiritual things. We may feel we are too busy to pay much attention to God. What if God had the same attitude and was too busy to pay much attention to us? How we treat others is an indicator of how we treat God. Something for us all to ponder. GIVING A MEMORIAL GIFT TO YOUR PARISH WHEN THERE IS A DEATH OF A LOVED ONE AND MAKING YOUR WILL: Have you ever considered giving a monetary gift to your parish in memory of a deceased loved one at the time of death or later on? It’s a beautiful expression of love for both the person who died and your parish. We always need money to enable us to continue to accomplish the mission of Jesus and for the general upkeep of our parish properties. Please consider this unique expression of giving in lieu of flowers, Mass cards and other expressions. When making your Will, remember All Saints Parish & the good that can come because of the legacy you leave your parish. Monetary donations would be gratefully appreciated if made to the Parish Building Fund, The Christian Service Center, Parish Cemeteries or All Saints Catholic School Education Fund, to be used by a family or families who need assistance with sending their child to a Catholic School. Regarding Dallas Shootings 8 July 2016 Once again, our nation has been confronted by the sad consequences of a senseless and violent shooting that took place in Dallas, Texas last evening. In the context of a peaceful demonstration against the police shootings of two black men in Louisiana and Minnesota earlier this week, five police officers were shot and killed in what appears to have been a coordinated attack. Our faith and history remind us that violence is never the way to confront violence. Yet, tragically, the innocent lives of these police officers were taken as they sought to protect the very rights of those who were protesting other acts of violence. Please join me in praying for all victims of violence and for the resolve to live in peace with one another. All lives matter and all lives deserve the respect and dignity afforded to them as children of God. As we pray for the victims of the Dallas shooting, may we also remember the countless numbers of men and women in law enforcement who stand in harm’s way on a daily basis to protect our communities and keep us safe. CLEAN-UP DAY AT ALL SAINTS PARISH We will be conducting a clean-up day at All Saints on Saturday, July 23rd. There has been a large collection of clutter that has accumulated over the years in the parish rectory, the church basement and also the school basement. This clutter has been identified and will require moving it out of the basement areas of each building and into the dumpsters that we will be ordering for its proper disposal. WE NEED THE SERVICES OF SOME STRONG ARMS AND BACKS TO ASSIST IN THIS WORK! If you are a physically healthy individual who is at least 12 years of age, we would appreciate you helping us in this removal effort. The more people we have in this effort, the less time it will take, however we are expecting it to take about two hours. Water & light beverages will be available for proper hydration, and after completion of the chores a lunch of hoagies and pizza will be available to all volunteers. Sign-up sheets are in the ramp area and also in the back entrance of the church. You can also call the parish office during normal business hours to volunteer for this effort. Please sign-up as soon as you can so that we can order enough liquids and food. All volunteers are asked to report to the holy Child School grounds at 10:45 AM on Saturday, July 23rd. WE NEED YOUR HELP! POPE FRANCIS’ EVANGELIZATION PRAYER INTENTION That opportunities may increase for dialogue and encounter between the Christian faith and the peoples of Asia. Dear friends; In light of the incident in which a purse was stolen from the church Sacristy, I ask you not to leave your valuables or purses unattended in the pews or in the Sacristy. Also, all of us need to become more vigilant while we are trying to address this situation. Thank you. Father Jacek
