Special thanks to Mr. Pallam Raju, Union Minister for Human Resources Development for sustained

and meet the growing demand for top quality professionals would not have been possible without the
continued guidance of Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India.
I also take this opportunity to extend a warm welcome to the distinguished guests from Government,
Corporate Sector and Academia, who are with us today. I also wish to express my gratitude to the

high quality research, executive education, consultancy and strong corporate as well as
international linkages.
n
A B-school, which will serve the society, the state and the nation for economic growth and
prosperity.
This vision of being one of the best business schools in the world cannot be achieved without the
wholehearted support and participation of all the stakeholders including the students, faculty members,
staff, Corporate and government (both state & central).
I believe that at the heart of business lies in the values of honesty, service, respect, integrity and personal
accountability. As an Institute, we aspire to create leaders who are responsible towards the society and
nation.
Some of the highlights of our activities this year were:

also.
n
IIM Raipur started Post Graduate Program for Working Executives (PGPWE). This programme
aims at meeting the growing needs and demands of business for competent managerial talent
for higher strategic positions.
n
There is an acute shortage of good faculty members and researchers in our country. There are
many great minds with sound academic background and inclination towards research in
industry, government organisations, and social sectors. In this regards, IIM Raipur is starting
Executive Fellow Program in Management from academic year 2013-14 to mitigate shortage
of high quality research.
n
IIM Raipur signed MoUs with six business schools across the world, including France,
Germany, Greece, Mexico, and Thailand. These institutions are AIT Bangkok, HLL Leipzig
Germany, Grenoble Cole de Management France, Alba Athens and IESEG School of
Management, France.

The Institute, right from its inception, has strived to contribute to the growth of the region and
state as large. Consequently, IIM Raipur has signed an MoU with the Government of
Chhattisgarh to help the government at policy, development and capacity building level.
n
IIM Raipur has taken up several consultancy assignments and senior level training
programmes.
n
IIM Raipur was also the “Academic partner” at the 'Global Investors Meet 2012' organized by
the State Government to showcase the potential of Chhattisgarh for business opportunities
and investment. The event witnessed active participation of students and faculty..
5

contemporary areas like “Innovation and Entrepreneurship”, “Resource Management”, Energy
Management etc.
Let me now turn to our graduating students & I would like to congratulate the students of the passing out

remember success is measured in terms of 'character' for which you were groomed.
My dear Students, your family, community, society and country needsyou. Go out with a commitment to
transform.
Before I end, I would like to congratulate the graduating batch and the prize winners today and wish all
happiness, professional success, and fulfillment from a life of service to family and country.

To The Graduating Batch
I would now like to share my feelings with graduating students for whom this day marks a major
milestone in their life. At this moment, I have mixed feelings. I am extremely happy to see all of you
completing a significant milestone in your life. However, I am also sad to say that I would have to say
goodbye to you.
Today, you begin a new journey, a journey of opportunities for what you have been equipped. You will go
out into the world with the learning you acquired here at IIM Raipur and make us proud with your
contributions and achievements.
In your exploration of these innumerable opportunities do remember that there are a set of
responsibilities that you carry - a responsibility that ensures the growth of the society and nation, a
responsibility that you will ensure the ethical code and emerge as leaders in a world of mercurial values.
My dear students, you must dream big, you must think big and must to do big. If you want to be a great
leader, you have to be a great thinker, a great doer, a great follower, and a great contributor. If you are
doing honestly and sincerely your job, there is no reason why you can't succeed, why you can't reckon the
world. Always concentrate on your objectives like Arjuna's Lakshya (goal, objective and mission). You will
be known for your contributions not only to the organisation, but also to the society and to the nation at
large. I am sure, your hard work, your dedication and your sincerity will make you a world class leader
and an excellent citizen.
Your graduation crowns your effort and dedication with the formal award of diplomas. This memorable
day has become even more memorable because of the presence of Honorable Shri Sam Pitroda, who is an
icon and role model for those aspiring to make a mark in the world.
I would also like to congratulate parents of all graduating students. Dear students, you are what they
have made you, blessed you and believed in you.
I once again felicitate all graduating students. The members of the Board of Governors and the faculty
and staff of IIM Raipur join me in wishing you success in your professional and personal life. May God
bless you in all your endeavours.
Jai Hind.
