The Eight Elements of Charismatic Influence

The Eight Elements of Charismatic Influence
Consciously Manage Your State of Mind
Have Self-Awareness
Artfully Communicate
Radiate Likeability & Empathy
Inspire Confidence
Serve as a Leader
Maintain Presence
Authentically Project Your True Self
Ranking yourself on these Eight Elements of Charisma is bound to increase your awareness of how you
currently come across to others; and what potentially you could do to more fully enter the “Charismatic Zone of
Influence” (as personal branding is all about perception and your IMPACT on others!).
I recommend that you be candid with yourself; and remember that everyone has some work to do to come
across more charismatically. Make the commitment to yourself to take this aspect of your personal brand
seriously; as it will surely help you attract more of what you seek, in your life.
THE CHARISMA CHALLENGE
Welcome to The Charisma Challenge! This quick questionnaire will help you discover what charisma is and
identify areas that you can develop to increase your charismatic influence.
This self-assessment tool will help you examine your personal strengths and vulnerabilities as they relate to
The Eight Elements of Charismatic Influence.
Each element brings its own insights. Together these elements represent a comprehensive system for building
your charisma.
INSTRUCTIONS:
Print the Charisma Pre-Challenge pages, and rate yourself on each element of Charisma by selecting
the appropriate number.
Here is the rating scale:
Ratings 1 or 2: Indicate that the statement is rarely true for you—or only true on occasion. A score of 1 would
mean that this statement is never true for you.
Rating of 3 or 4: This is a mid-point or “fence-sitting” score. This means that sometimes it is true for you and
sometimes it is not (depending on the context or situation you find yourself in).
Ratings 5 or 6: Indicate that the statement is mostly true for you
Typically your first response is your best response. If you would like more info, regarding your results, please call or

To impact your level of charisma immediately, look at those elements where you ranked yourself
in the mid-range (3 or 4). Select one element to focus on (let your intuition guide you!).
Now take some time to think about what you could do to develop that aspect of charisma. What are
three actions you can take or practices you can put into place immediately? The “actions” you choose
can fall under one of four categories:
1. Focus on how you can increase your self-awareness (recognizing your own thoughts, feelings or
behavior patterns)
2. Work on your belief system; reframing how you think about yourself, others
works.
or how the world
3. Discover new ways to change your behavior (what you do and how you do it).
4. Build Your Charismatic Personal Brand with Ellen as Your Coach!

What others are saying about Ellen’s Private Coaching Programs:
“Ellen is the best at what she does. I have researched and interviewed many in her field - in
the range of hundreds and from many areas of the world and over the last 12 years: and I
must say in terms of delivery of branding, expertise in her field and creativity, you are unlikely
to find better. The branding process is not easy: it is creative and difficult in terms of
balancing ideas with a myriad of complex factors. It is also difficult because it can get personal
and with the associated challenges of myopia. Ellen has the skills of listening to pry what she
needs to create a brand and then put it together with the keen eye of a Michelangelo dusting off what is not representing you or your company.. leaving a masterpiece that leaves
people breathless and wanting more.” January 18, 2012

Hired Ellen as a Branding Consultant in 2011
“Ellen is a great coach and has a natural instinct for understanding the business of branding.
Of all the consultants out there, no one can so succinctly dissect and distill the key values that
either a person or brand represents. She has a unique talent for analyzing individual
attributes and then facilitating a process where language can be honed to communicate in
ways that touch the clients we seek to most attract. And she works with people in an honest
and candid manner -- more than I can say for most consultants who rely more on
cheerleading hype than on delivering true value. Working with her was an eye-opening
experience, and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her.” August 11, 2011
