KTTC is fully registered under VETA (Vocational Educational and Training Authority)VTC/186/98. Registration fees: TZS 7,000.00 School fees (per year): TZS 400,000.00 day scholar can be paid in two sessions – first and second term. Accommodation available: TZS 250,000.00 per year. 2.0 VISION: Commitment in quality training, production and maintenance in various skills required by the society in Kilimanjaro region and by the nation at large. Through the workshop promotion programme, we are able to make a follow-up of extrainees in the Small Scale Industries. 5.2: TUITION FOR UP-GRADING: Duration: Seven months for Level II and III Fees: @ TZS 150,000/= Time: 3:00pm to 6:00pm 4.0 OBJECTIVES: 4.1: Quality in training, production and maintenance. 4.2: Additional supporting subjects: Ethics/Religion, English, Engineering and Environmental Sciences, Technical Drawing, Entrepreneurship and Computer skills. 4.3: Follow-up of ex-trainees through workshop promotion for capacity building in starting and sustaining Small Scale Industries. 4.4: Upgrading from Level I to III through evening classes/tuition programme. 6.1: UNIFORM: Two (2) khaki trousers for boys and girls. Two @ short sleeved white shirts for boys and girls. Black shoes and blue overall/overcoat for workshop practice. 5.0: CARRICULUM: KTTC Offer Two Programmes: 5.1: MAIN COURSE in seven trades: CARPENTRY & JOINERY (CJ) ELECTRICAL INSTALLATION (EL) WELDING & FABRICATION (WF) MASONRY & BRICKLAYING (MB) WATERINSTALLATION (PLUMBING) SOLAR TECHNOLOGY TAILORING (TL) MOTOR VEHICLE MECHANICS (MV) & Full time (day) based on “Competence Base Education & Training” (CBET) in the dual system: Theory 30%, Practical 70%. Duration: Two years Two semesters: Mid January to June, and Mid July to December. 6.0: OTHER SCHOOL REQUIREMENTS: 6.2: LEARNING MATERIALS: Eight (8) exercise books, or counter books, pens, pencils and rubber, Mathematical set, scientific calculator and school bag. 7.0: ARCHIEVEMENT: The skills gained at the KTTC gives them a good start for the career. Over the years, 76% of KTTC ex-trainees are employed/self-employed. Out of them, six (6) are facilitators in various VTC’s. From July 2001; the followup and workshop promotion programmes have reached not only ex-trainees but also other VTC’s in Kilimanjaro and Arusha regions. 8.3: COMPUTER COURSES: i. INTRODUCTION & MICROSOFT WORD ii. MICROSOFT EXCEL iii. MICROSOFT PUBLISHER iv. MICROSOFT POWER POINT v. COMPUTER MAINTENANCE & REPAIR Duration: Three to four weeks for each programme. Time: Monday to Friday Morning Session: 8:30am to 12:30pm Evening Session: 2:00pm to 5:30pm Fees: Programmes i to iv above @ TZS 30,000/= Computer Maintenance & repair TZS 100,000/= 9.0: COMPUTER CLINIC: We make computer repairs as follows: Diagnosis TZS 5,000/= Loading Operating system TZS 25,000/= Loading ant virus programme TZS 8,000/= Scanning of virus TZS 8,000/= Loading additional programme TZS 8,000/= Service of computer TZS 10,000/= Spare parts are at customers cost. Education and Social Activities: Visitors/Volunteers from other VTC’s in Tanzania and abroad are invited to share skills with KTTC Instructors and students in Electrical Installation, Carpentry and Joinery, Welding & Fabrication, Masonry & Plumbing, Alternative Energy (Solar light/Photovoltaic), Computer, English Language and Entrepreneurship. Sharing skills between visitors (friends) with KTTC trainers, students and staff. 7.1: PRODUCTION: We make furniture for homes, offices and schools. We invite individuals and companies to make orders fitting their requirements and tastes. 8.0: APPLICATION: 8.1: Forms: available from September to November at the Diocesan Centre, near Moshi Parish and at KTTC. 8.2: Interview, entrance examination, selection and results (joining instructions) are given in December/January.
