From the Principal:
Before/After School Care:
Please read this newsletter carefully as there
is a lot of important information! We are
offering new programs and have some
upcoming deadlines, and we would hate for
you to miss out!

Drama Club:
We have had such a great start to our new
year! Thank you so very much to all the
teachers, staff, and parents that work so very
hard to make our school a success!
Please note that the CPP training on
September 1st has been canceled. Check the
newsletter for other training dates.
As always, should you have any questions or

Please let us know if you have a skill or
resource that you would like to offer. We are
always looking for new ways for you to help
our school and get credit towards volunteer
hours!
Playground Closed:
Now that Lakeview offers extended care, the
playground will be in use after school and is
closed to those not in the after-care
program. Thank you for your cooperation in
this matter.
We are excited to offer before and after school
care this year! Before care is available at
7:00am on school days, while after care is
available until 6:00pm.
Please note that
students arriving before 7:30am will be
checked into before care and their account
billed $5.00. Payment for full-time care is due
in advance on the 1st of each month. Drop-in
students will be billed for the hours used.
Our first meeting of the drama club was a great
success! Our students are exploring creative
movement, vocal expression, improvisation,
and performance.
They will work on
monologues, skits and short plays.
Most
importantly, all of it is fun!
The cost is
$5/week for those children not already in after
care. Please let the office know if you would
like to register your child for this program!
Odyssey of the Mind:
If there is enough interest, we will be
participating in Odyssey of the Mind this year.
We will form a team of 5 – 7 students who will
learn creative problem-solving methods while
having fun in the process. They will work as a
group on a project which will culminate in a
regional tournament. There is no pressure to
win as the focus is on the process. Odyssey of
the Mind promotes teamwork and problem
solving, as well as critical and creative thinking
skills. Best of all, the students have a great
time while doing it!

Pizza Lunches:
Lakeview Weekly News
Pizza money ($45/semester or $90/year) is
due by tomorrow. Starting next week,
students who have not paid will not be able
to have pizza.

Christian T-Shirt Days:
8/19 – Harmony
8/21 – Austin
8/22 – Micah
Christian t-shirt orders and money were due
today. If you have not already done so, please
return orders and money tomorrow. Only one
order will be placed and there will not be
another opportunity this year to order
Christian t-shirts. The first Christian t-shirt
Friday will be announced after the t-shirts
arrive. At that time, students may wear jeans
(or school appropriate bottoms), along with a
Christian t-shirt or Lakeview t-shirt.
Box Tops for Education:
Lakeview is collecting Box Tops again this year.
Please cut the Box Tops out so the expiration
date is visible and send them to school with
your child. Please put your student’s initials on
the back. On the last day of each month, each
teacher will draw a winner who will get a NUT
(No Uniform Today) coupon as a prize. The
class who collects the most each semester will
get an ice cream sundae party. The first Box
Top drawing will be Wednesday, August 31st.
Tuition Payments:
Remember that tuition is due the first of each
month – August through May – for those who
pay monthly. Lakeview does not send a
monthly statement unless you are overdue.
This applies to VPK extended day and
Before/After School Care as well.

The school day begins at 8:00am. Students
arriving after 8:05am will need to be signed in
at the office. Any students arriving before
7:30am will be signed in to early care and
charged $5.00.
Students not picked up by 2:45pm will be
checked into after care and will be billed
accordingly (a $5 fee is automatically
incurred).
Please use car signs when picking up students.
This will help the pick-up process to go
smoothly.
