eet EMYS™ - the first commercially
available social robot who can teach
foreign language to kids aged 3-7.
EMYS is a friendly robotic head that teaches kids foreign
languages through regular, fun interactions. EMYS
appeals to multiple senses, and uses language children
already known via their favorite cartoons, toys, and
items from their surroundings. He can move, speak,
recognize faces, and express emotions - which fosters
bonding. Through the journey of learning languages,
EMYS can become a part of children’s world, full of
wonder, characters, imagination.

hy a robot?
Learning processes take time and it’s best for kids
to start early, especially when it comes to language. It’s
optimal for kids to start learning a second language while
they’re still developing their first language. The trouble is,
weekly private lessons are inefficient and expensive, and existing
games and language apps don’t have the engagement factor
that kids need.
Ways of teaching kids must be attractive and engaging to children,
as they need to learn with all of their senses. That’s why EMYS leverages a teaching
method called TPR (Total Physical Response), where kids react
with whole-body actions to commands given by a language instructor.

Language Instruction
EMYS™ - FOREIGN LANGUAGE TEACHER
EMYS is currently equipped to teach English-speaking children
Spanish, and Spanish-speaking children English. Additional
language support is in development.
Rewards and Progress
Regular learning makes EMYS grow alongside children. They get
daily rewards and their progress unlocks new games and cartoons.
Vocabulary
Based on a large carefully selected base of words, EMYS’ AI
algorithms are able to provide engaging games and messages
related to the stories that kids love the most.
All Senses
Kids learn with all their senses. They need to feel, hear and touch
physical objects. EMYS provides RFID smart tags sensing system.
The robot can recognize physical objects and transfer them to the
robot application.

Emotional & Expressive
EMYS’™ unique, mechanoidal shape allows EMYS to avoid the
uncanny valley phenomenon. Three independent discs move
when he speaks, and his eyes effectively express a wide range of
emotions.
Sensitive
EMYS™ - FOREIGN LANGUAGE TEACHER
Various touch-points built into the robot mean that you can
pat and tickle him and he reacts to it in a natural way.
Visually Perceptive EMYS
Can detect, recognize, and track a person.
Multimedia Ready
A built-in 6,1” LCD screen mounted in his base showcases
educational content like cartoons and stories.
