About Our Shelter
Dog Orphans Animal Shelter, founded
forty
five years ago by a small group of
forty-for
animal lovers, is an organization dedicated
to saving dogs from pain and suffering.
We are a non-profit, no-kill shelter
governed by a volunteer board of directors.
It is self supporting, relying solely on
donations and adoption fees to keep the
shelter in operation. We do not receive any
state or federal funding.
After entering our program, all dogs are
spayed or neutered, given a heartworm
test, a booster shot, rabies shot, I.D. tag,
groomed and are provided foster care until
a permanent home is found. Since we like to
make sure potential owners and their new
pet are happy, all adopters are given thirty
days to decide if the dog they have chosen
is a suitable match.
Because we do not euthanize any dogs in
our program, we need your support. We ask
that you consider adopting one of our fourlegged friends, making a donation, or
perhaps referring us to someone you know
who is looking for a great companion.
