UPDATE To Traffic Pattern – When dropping off students please
pull up curbside to the flagpole. Please do not drop students off in front of
the high school doors; this creates a back-up of cars and a safety hazard for
other cars. At dismissal, students should wait for parents on the sidewalk in
front of the flagpole; students should not walk down to Academy Street to be
picked up due to student safety concerns.

Video Recording Permission Form – Students were sent home with a
permission form to allow or not allow video recording for educational purposes.
Please return the form by Friday, 1/22.
8th Grade Washington, DC payments – Final Payment of $200 is due on 1/22.
Please contact Ms. Sturzo if you have any questions on making payments.
Please make checks out to Epping Middle School in blue or black pen. Payments
will be accepted in the Middle School office by Ms. Sturzo.
Hoverboard Raffle Fund Raiser – is due on Friday, 1/22. 8th grade students
attending the Washington, DC field trip are selling tickets for a chance to win a
hoverboard! Tickets sold will go toward the cost of the each individual student’s
trip. Good Luck!
Activity Night - On Friday, 1/22, 6:30 – 8:30 PM, please note the time change.
Admission is $5 per student and a concession stand will be open with pizza,
snacks, and drinks available for purchase. Please remember dress code and school
policy applies during dances. Students will be dismissed by the Middle School
doors promptly at 8:30 pm. Please park in the Middle School parking lot and walk
up to the sidewalk to dismiss your child.
Parent Conferences - Parent-Teacher conferences will be held on Thursday,
1/28 from 2:30 – 6:30. Please contact Ellen Needham at [email protected] or
679-2544 x220 on or after Friday, 1/15 to schedule a conference time. If the time
you prefer is not available, contact the team leader to schedule a meeting. Pat

Button Design Competition – Become a part of Epping History! EMS students
have the opportunity to design a button to celebrate Epping’s 275th Birthday!
Submit your Button Design entries between 1/11 and 1/29 to the main office,
one design will be selected. Attached please find an Entry Form and more details.
Washington, DC Parent Meeting – For all Parents will students attending the
Washington, DC field trip there will be a meeting held on Wednesday, 2/10 from
6:00 – 7:00 pm in the 8th grade pod.

Epping 275 Birthday Button
Design Competition
Who may enter: Any Epping student, grades 1-12, may create a button design
to honor the town of Epping as it celebrates 275 years as a community. The
buttons should be no larger than 3” in diameter and should reflect this historic
event in a positive manner. Students can create as many entries as they wish.
Dates of competition: January 11, 2016-January 29, 2016. All entries need to
be turned in to the Main Office by Friday, January 29, 2016 at 4:00 PM.
Where to Turn in entries: The Main Offices of each of the three Epping
Schools.
Prizes include: Winning buttons will be put in the Epping Historical Society to
commemorate this event.

Epping Middle School - Adventure Club
Winter 2016
It’s that time of year again! To encourage healthy activities for our
students, the Epping Middle School is offering an indoor rock climbing trip to
Vertical Dreams climbing gym in Manchester. The program will be held after
school on Friday January 29th. The program is open to all middle school
grades. Listed below is a list of specific information on the activity. Please

 The field trip will take place from 2:30 – 7:15 pm. Students are to be
picked up at 7:15 pm in front of the Middle School.
 The cost of the activity is $12.00. This price includes transportation,
facility, and equipment rental. Make checks out to Epping Middle School.

Epping School District Child Find Clinic
The Epping School District will be holding a Child Find Clinic
at the Epping Preschool on Friday, 1/22/16 from 10:00 am
until 2:00 pm. The purpose of the Child Find is to screen the
developmental skills of children between the ages of 2.5 to 6
(those not enrolled in Kindergarten) who may be in need of
special education services. The screenings are completed by
school personnel and address the areas of motor skills,
speech and language, vision, hearing and pre-academics. If
you think your child may have difficulties or a delay in any of
these areas, please call 679-8003 extension 103 to set up an
appointment (appointments are required). This service is free
of charge and open to all Epping residents. All results are
confidential.

Ongoing Child Find Program
School Administrative Unit # 14 which serves the Epping
School District provides services to eligible educationally
disabled students between the ages of 3 and 21 and evaluates
potentially educationally disabled students at age 3. This
district believes in early identification and maintains an active
“Child Find” program. The special education team will
maintain an “open referral” policy to screen or fully evaluate
students in the areas of language, motor and cognitive
functioning. These services are available to residents of
Epping.
Child Find procedures are mandated by ED 1103.01 as stated
in the New Hampshire Rules for the Education of Children
with Disabilities.
Any questions regarding these services can be answered by
calling the Special Education Office at 603 679-8003 x 103.
