Care and Maintenance
The 3M Visionair Supplied Air Respirator System is a waist-mounted, adjustable regulator continuous flow
respiratory protection device.
To maintain protection levels, optimise the effective lifetime of the system and avoid the additional
cost of replacement, it is extremely important to carry out regular checks and maintenance on
Powered and Supplied Air Respirators.
Before Use
After Use
Regulator
•Inspect Regulator assembly for cracks or loose
connectors
•Inspect Breathing Tube – ensure it is free from splits or
holes. Replace if necessary
•Inspect Belt – ensure it is free from splits or tears and the
buckle is undamaged
•Examine the 3M Compressed Air Supply Tube for
damage
•Clean with cloth dampened with a mild solution of water
and liquid household soap
Headtop
•Inspect Comfort Band. Remove and replace if necessary
•Inspect Face Seal and Visor. Ensure they are undamaged
(free from splits or tears). Replace if necessary
•Ensure Pivot Nuts are secure
•Replace Visor Peel-Off (if used)
Every 6 Months
Replace all damaged parts immediately to
ensure correct levels of protection
•Disinfect with 3M™ 105 Wipes •Store in a dry, clean area / locker away from direct
sunlight, high temperatures and solvents
Monthly
•Carry out all the ‘Before Use’ inspections and create
record of this monthly check for the regulator
•Replace filter
