Ideal School Uniform Competition
Have you thought about designing uniforms for your own school? In order to encourage
students and working adults to be creative and contribute to their own alma mater,
“Ideal School Uniform Competition” is now being held. The purpose of the competition
is to mix the touch of life, fashion trends, and the unique Hong Kong cultural arts into
the campus life. Through this competition, students’ creativity will be promoted on one
hand; on the other hand, more talented designers with own ideas in this new generation
will be explored, and the development of local fashion design will be encouraged.
Participants not only can design uniforms for their own alma mater with current fashion
elements, but also can retain the school’s unique traditional culture by developing own
aesthetic and practical concepts. New elements can be added and contributed to own
alma mater as a way to pay back to the community.
Theme of the Competition
The theme will be based on “Inheritance, Innovation and Uniform Revolution”. The
designed uniforms will show comfortable, stylish design and life style with creative
freedom.
Qualification
1. Applicants must be HK Permanent Residents.
2. All persons involved in the preparation and implementation of the competition are
not allowed to participate.
3. The organizer has the final decision on the eligibility of the participants.
Evaluation Criteria and Format
The competition is divided into two stages: the preliminaries and the final. It will be
evaluated by professionals. Competition result will be announced on November 26,
2016.
Entries for Parent-child group (Kindergarten students and parents) will be based on the
following evaluations:

Innocence (Participation of the child, Originality)
- 30%

Creativity (Originality of work, Conceptual innovation)
- 30%

Aesthetic (Design skills, Color matching, Overall integrity)
- 30%

Relevancy to the theme (Theme configuration, Theme Expression) - 10%
Works Specifications
Regardless of how the participants submit the works, the size has to be A4. Files of the
digital version of the works cannot be larger than 5mb. Parent-child group participants
have to use the uniform template provided by the competition organizer without any
color restriction. The uniform design can be chosen among kindergarten, elementary
school, secondary school or university. The uniform style has to be summer uniform for
boys or girls (regular uniform, not PE uniforms). Also, participants have to list out the
title and the inspiration of the works.
Rules of Competition
All the entries have to include the following:
1. A completed and signed application form
2. A copy of the valid student ID
3. Clearly stated the title, theme and the idea of creativity of the work
4. Can be either hand drawing or computer graphics
5. Participant can only submit one entry in one group
6. Free entry fee; however, all production and submission costs will be responsible
by participants
7. All submitted works will not be returned, participants please prepare own backup
8. The organizer will not be responsible for any lost and damage of entries
Application Method
Participants need to submit the application forms and works to Rm 8, 4/F, Block A,
Hong Kong Industrial Centre, 489-491 Castle Peak Road, Kowloon, Hong Kong by
October 20, 2016 6pm (Operating hours: M-F 9am to 6pm; Sat 9am to 1pm; Excluding
public holidays). Entries can also be emailed to [email protected].
Please specify the subject line “Ideal School Uniform Competition”, competition group
and participant’s name.
