WE LCOME TO CH ICA
Chica delivers the robust and
vibrant flavors of Latin America.
This May, a new experience arrives
in Restaurant Row, one that brings a
veritable edible culinary atlas to Las
Vegas. Chica, a 50 Eggs Concept,
featuring the menus of acclaimed Chef
Lorena Garcia, showcases diverse
and delicious Latin cuisines from
Argentina and Chile then northward
through Peru, Brazil, Venezuela, and
beyond into Mexico.
Garcia, who hails from Venezuela, is
known to many from TV shows like
Top Chef Masters and her popular
cookbooks. To introduce this concept,
John Kunkel’s 50 Eggs, the creators
of award-winning Yardbird Southern
Table & Bar, teamed up with the
celebrity chef to create the new dining
destination in Las Vegas.
“It’s always been a dream to be in
Vegas,” says Garcia. In the restaurant,
the 50 Eggs culinary team and Garcia
have assembled a cornucopia of recipes,
all of which represent their countries
of origin while complementing each
other across the exciting menu. Garcia
has a few suggestions for guests
looking to explore the foods of Central
America and South America.
“I think you need to order a basket
of arepas,” she says, mentioning the
tasty, colorful bites cooked fresh in the
kitchen throughout the day. “It gives
you a little taste of my culture from
Venezuela.”
Garcia recommends then tr ying
one of the ceviches made with fresh
seafood, zinging citrus juices, and
piquant spices. Another great
introduction to Chica’s offerings are
corn lollipops flavored with chilies,
lime, and cotija cheese.

The extensive menu includes savory
cazuela-style stews and marinated
meats grilled in the fiery churrasco
method of Brazil and Argentina. Of
course, there are plenty of light seafood
and vegetable dishes, too. There’s also
a beautiful brunch service and Latinfocused cocktail-wine program.
To add to the restaurant’s incredible
flavors and aromas, the colorful décor
brings in the open-air courtyard
ambiance of Garcia’s homeland. A
one-of-a-kind dining experience truly
awaits inside.

THE DORSEY
Subtle. Satiable. Sophisticated.
The Venetian introduces a new addition
to Las Vegas nightlife, with the debut of
The Dorsey – a new “must-visit” cocktail
spot for the worldly, curious and engaged.
The new bar — perfect for “cocktails and
conversations,” says The Observer — was
the culmination of years of research by
Las Vegas Sands executives to create the
ultimate bar format.
The search took them to venues around
the world, and to David Rabin, the
creative mind behind NYC hotspots
The Skylark and JIMMY at The James,
who assisted with the concept. The
concept — which Women’s Wear Daily
calls “nightlife for grown-ups” — is a
bar with a level of quality and discretion
that allows guests to delve into relaxed
conversation while still enjoying a fun,
upbeat atmosphere.
The menu — conceived by one of
today’s hottest mixologists — sets a
new standard for cocktails in Sin City.
Consider it the perfect place to begin
your night, or a spot to stay a while and
socialize. Either way, The Dorsey is the
place to be.

With a stylish nod to the intimate yet energetic environment of social and racquet
clubs of decades past, The Aquatic Club offers a posh pool deck like no other in

There’s a full range beverages available, including nostalgic craft cocktails like the
citrusy Bee’s Knees and the fizzy French 75. The irresistible Prohibition Treat Trike
is stocked with boozy artisan ice pops. And, of course, after working up an appetite,
you can reach for delicious, gourmet eats like sushi, salads, and signature pizzas from
famed celebrity chef Wolfgang Puck.
Everywhere you look, The Aquatic Club is outfitted with a bespoke style of crisp
white and blue décor highlights accented with playful touches of red and green. The
outdoor palette is vibrantly echoed by pool staff, who don swimwear and stylings from
noted designer Tory Burch and her unmistakable athletic line, Tory Sport. In the
background, artwork inspired by abstract expressionism of the ‘40s and ‘50s enhances
the retro vibe. This is a good-looking destination, indeed.

For an Italian-American take on
br unch, Buddy V's is a must-do,
especially for families visiting with
children. On wide tables with bountiful
buffet service, TV personality Buddy
“Cake Boss” Valastro presents his own
family’s breakfast traditions once a week.
Start with antipasti platters like salumi
and cheese boards covered with a wide
variety of choices to sample. Iced peeland-eat shrimp always thrills seafood
fans. For savory traditional dishes, go
for slices of roast vegetable frittata
and heaping helpings of Sunday-style
eggs. Hearty choices include chicken
parmesan and orecchiette pasta with
italian sausage. And don’t forget the
sweet stuff from housemade cannoli to
biscotti and the extensive “kids corner”
spread with chicken fingers, mac n’
cheese, and more. Buddy V’s recently
received “Best Sunday Brunch” at the
Silver State Culinary Awards.
LAVO’s proper brunch is one of the
most exciting and in-demand dining
destinations around, including its
stunning terrace over looking the
famous Las Vegas Strip. Start in
griddled territory with a Nutella and
banana crêpe, lemon ricotta waffles or
the “Blue Skies” pancakes topped with
blueberry compote. When it comes
to eggs benedict, two stellar varieties
are served: the classic with duroc ham
and the luxurious 1 lb. lobster choice
with champagne hollandaise. For an
additional — and majorly delicious —

Saturday-Sunday: 10am - 4pm
One of the all-time brunch stars
in town is Bouchon, a member of
“Las Vegas Brunch Hall of Fame”
says Las Vegas Weekly magazine. An
authentic slice of France located in the
ornate Venezia Tower, it’s a beautiful,
light-filled space. Bouchon was created
by famed Chef Thomas Keller, who
has garnered Michelin stars and James
Beard Foundation awards, and Time
Magazine once called him “America’s
Best Chef.” Baked goods are renowned,
such as pastries and baguette with
butter and jam. The Salade de Fruits
de Saison gathers together gleaming
farmers market produce. Yaourt à la
vanille — vanilla scented Greek yogurt,
fresh berries, and Bouchon Bakery
granola — is perfect for a light option.
Pain Perdu brioche French toast with
blueberry compote is a favorite of
repeat brunch-goers. And the classic
cobb salad with grilled chicken greets
the day with abundance. The beautiful
outdoor terrace and courtyard is some
of the most desirable patio seating in
Las Vegas.
Friday-Sunday: 7am - 2pm
SUGARCANE raw bar grill
SUGARCANE raw bar grill brings
brunch specialties from around the
globe to Las Vegas with vibrant flair.
Begin with a bread board course
studded with a guava-cheese pop tart
and bacon-manchego muffins. When
a poached egg is topped with slowroasted oxtail and sherry hollandaise
sauce, the notion of eggs benedict
takes on a whole new nuance. For a
more lunch-like choice, the Cuban
roast pork sandwic h is flavor ful
with garlic-mojo sauce and textured
with crispy pork cracklings. Robust
entrées include California rock bass
with market greens and c harred
citrus as well as grilled flank steak
and potato frites with demi-glace.
SUGARCANE raw bar grill's full
tapas menu of chilled and grilled
seafood and meats is available, too.
For down-home hospitalit y and
excellent flavors, Yardbird is top-oflist for fans of Southern foodways.
Start exploring with the Fried Green
Tomato BLT, complete with smoked
pork belly and zesty pimento cheese.
Nothing says “the American South”
like a scratch biscuit topped with fried
egg and sausage. For a sunny dish, the
butter lettuce and grilled mango salad is
filled with char-grilled fruit and smoked
pecans with benne seed vinaigrette. It
doesn’t get any more authentic than
Chicken ‘n’ Watermelon ‘n’ Waffles
with honey hot sauce, and shrimp and
grits is a seafood splurge. Of course,
Southern cookery has a sweet tooth,
so don’t miss the doughnuts donuts
with maple-glazed bacon and hickorysmoked chocolate coffee cake. Dig in.

a new kind of gaming
Much like our modern world, the
casino is evolving and expanding
into whole new formats, including
stadium-style electronic play. Gaming
is merging with our interconnected
societies, and interacting with other
players can now be as exciting as facing
off against the dealer has always been.
The era of Electronic Table Games
(ETG) has dawned.
W i t h o u r i n n o v a t i ve S t ad i u m
Blackjack stations, you can join in
the ETG new wave. In fact, we are
at the forefront of the crowd, offering
exclusive Las Vegas high-tech gaming
experiences.
Beyond the action on your personal
screen and watching your dealers at
their separate tables, there’s also the
added bonus of being surrounded by
fellow gamers. Their experiences will
enhance your gaming experience, and
yours, in turn, will add to theirs.
As with any new horizon, you might
wonder on the nitty-gritty details. We
always welcome questions, and our
staff is readily available with answers.
And there’s always a “help” screen
available on your terminal for quick
reference, as well.
S TADIU M B L AC K JAC K
With its multi-table play capabilities,
Stadium Blackjack at The Venetian is a
perfect introduction to this new way of
playing. After choosing your preferred
personal terminal, you can connect
with the action with two separate live
table games at the same time. Every
movement, every card dealt, is instantly
streamed in HD video to your console.
With the simple touch of a finger,
you can switch your view from one live
dealer to the next, increasing your odds
of winning along the way, including lowlimit bets. Plus, you can earn free play
along the way. Bets start at $5.
IM P E R IAL BACCAR AT
For fans of baccarat, we have united
ETG with the classic and increasingly
popular game, as well. Play up to four
shoes simultaneously — each with its
own live dealer. The individual screens
feature crisp and vivid displays for your
viewing comfort, including color-coded
layouts that make keeping track of
separate tables simple and clear. With a
wide range of wager limits — starting
at $5 — it ’s accessible to gamers of
all ranges of experience. You can find
ETG-powered Imperial Baccarat in both
The Venetian and The Palazzo.

beauty:
the essentials list
How to use it: Apply a quarter-size
dollop of body wash onto the mitt and
massage in a circular motion starting
at your feet, moving up your legs and
torso toward your heart. Cover all
areas and rinse thoroughly.
EIGHT BEAUTY CLASSICS
Life’s full of choices — and beauty
products are no exception. There’s a
gadget or gizmo (or 20 out there for just
about every need, and you undoubtedly
already have some you call favorites. In
the spirit of sharing, here are some of
ours: eight tools that can improve your
appearance and help you maintain
healthy skin, hair, nails and more, as
recommended by Laura Hittleman,
corporate director of beauty services
for Canyon Ranch SpaClub.
1
DRY BRUS H
In addition to sloughing off
dry skin, dry brushing also boosts
lymphatic drainage, which encourages
the removal of toxins from your body,
helping your skin glow. Additionally,
it increases cell renewal and blood
flow, resulting in a tighter, smoother
complexion. Opt for a natural-bristle
brush, ideally one that ’s vegetablederived, since synthetic materials can
be harsh on your skin.
How to use it: Before your morning
shower, stimulate skin by making long
sweeps with the bristles against your
skin, starting at your feet and moving
up your legs on both sides. Then brush
your arms, starting at your hands and
brushing toward your chest. To avoid
irritation, always brush toward your
heart — which encourages natural
lymphatic flow — and never brush too
hard or in back-and-forth motions.

O n c e y o u ’r e i n t h e s h o w e r,
continue the exfoliation with a bath
mitt. While you may be tempted to
buy a loofah, these can sometimes be
too rough on skin. They also have a
tendency to get moldy because they
take so long to dry. Just be sure to
thoroughly clean or replace your mitt
every three months since the dark,
damp shower is a breeding ground for
bacteria. (A netted sponge is another
helpful alternative.)

A G O O D RA ZO R
If your go-to method for leg
and underarm hair removal is to
shave with a razor, you’ll need a good
one. W hile you could save money
by buying a pack of inexpensive,
disposable razors, it’s best to choose
one with multiple blades and a
moisturizing strip. This will give you
a closer shave and prevent the risk of
cuts and nicks. In general, razor blades
should be replaced every eight to 10
shaves; you might need to replace the
razor after every five shaves if your
hair is especially coarse.
How to use it: Give your skin and
hair some time to soften by shaving
toward the end of your shower
routine. Apply shaving gel or cream
(avoid soap) to the area and, starting
at your ankle, pull the razor up your
leg for the closest shave. If you tend
to experience razor burn, try shaving
in the same direction that your hair
grows. When shaving your armpits,
pul l your skin taut so it ’s easier
to catch the hairs; a razor with a
pivoting head can also help.

CLEA NS I NG BRUS H
Regular exfoliation is essential
for clear, radiant skin. Without it,
dirt, makeup and oil can get trapped
in your pores, and the buildup can
make your complexion look dull
and unhealthy — and even cause
yo u r p o re s t o ge t b i g ge r. W h i l e
there are a few different exfoliating
brushes on the market, the Clarisonic
uses a patented sonic frequenc y
that’s been shown to improve skin’s
appearance and texture and remove
makeup six times better than
cleansing with your hands.
How to use it: Every evening, put a
small amount of cleanser on the brush
head and press the power button;
then, gently move the brush around
your face and décolletage in soft,
circular motions. The internal timer
will power down the device after one
minute. Follow up with your usual
nighttime serum and moisturizer.

W hile you can get your teeth
clean with a regular toothbrush, many
dentists agree that you’ll optimize
the look and health of your mouth if
you use an electric model. Traditional
electric toothbrushes spin or move
b ac k - a n d - f o r t h t o re p l i c a t e t h e
motion of your hand, but do so 3,000
to 7,500 times per minute — at least
10 times faster than you can do alone.
Sonic varieties move for ward and
back or in a circular rotation 30,000 to
40,000 times per minute and vibrate,
which can help better move the water
and toothpaste in between teeth and
around your gum line. Thanks to
their speed, these brushes are highly
effective at removing plaque and
keeping gums healthy.
Canyon Ranch SpaClub
How to use it: Wet your brush and apply
a pea-size amount of toothpaste. Think
of your mouth as four quadrants and
start brushing in one of the top ones,
pointing the brush at a 45-degree angle
up toward your gums. Be sure to cover
the outside, inside and chewing surface
of each tooth, as well as your tongue.
Avoid applying too much pressure to
prevent gum damage. Spend about two
to three minutes to clean your entire
mouth before rinsing. Optional: Use
a fluoride-based mouthwash for 30
seconds after brushing.

Whether you want to pluck a few
stray eyebrow hairs or need to remove
a splinter in your finger, a good set of
tweezers is a beauty tool that’ll always
come in handy. Since hair removal is
likely what you’ll use your tweezers for
the most, look for ones with a slanted
tip, which will help grip the hair you
want to pluck.
How to use it: Pluck eyebrows after a
warm shower; the steam will soften
skin, making your job easier. Brush
eyebrows into place and then use the
tweezers to grab stray hairs at their root
and pluck in the direction of the hair
growth. Avoid plucking a large area
with tweezers to prevent ingrown hairs.

C U TIC L E R E M OVE R
When you can’t make it to the nail
salon, a good pair of nail clippers
will help you avoid jagged nails and
hangnails when performing your athome manicure. Look for stainless steel
nail clippers, which hold up better over
time than ones made with other metals.
Ideally, the handles will also have a
good grip, so the tool doesn’t slip out of
your hand. When it comes to removing
thick, tough cuticles — if you choose
to do so — skip cuticle stones, which
can be too rough and damaging to the
cuticle bed. Instead, opt for a cuticle
remover cream, which is a more gentle
way of removing this dead skin.
How to use it: Clip your nails straight
across, being careful not to cut them too
short, which can be painful. With a file,
smooth the tips and round the corners,
and then rub moisturizer thoroughly
around each nail, finger and the rest of
your hand. When using cuticle remover
cream, soak hands in warm water for a
few minutes first. Apply the cream to
your cuticles and, once you notice them
soften, push them back off your nails
(a cuticle pusher can help you do this).
Then remove the cuticle buildup and
rinse your nails.

M IC RO FIB E R
H AIR TOWE L S
If you wrap your hair with the same
terry cloth towel you use to dry your
body after your shower, you may be
harming your hair. Towels made from
terry cloth can actually cause hair to
break when working them over your
wet strands, leading to frizz and split
ends. Microfiber hair towels, on the
other hand, are gentler on your mane
and will absorb more water, cutting
back on drying time and resulting heatstyling damage.
How to use it: You can choose to work the
microfiber towel over your hair, drying
sections as you go, or wrap the towel
around your hair in a gentle twist.

hellၡ, BAZ!
Upon graduating from the prestigious National
Institute of Dramatic Art in Sydney, where
he studied acting, Baz Luhrmann embarked
on a successful stage c areer. Turning to
moviemaking to expand his artistic expression,
he first gained recognition with the charming,
dance-filled Strictly Ballroom. A few years
later, the box office spectacle that was Romeo
+ Juliet launched him into the stratosphere of
go-to directors.
Next, he assembled the cast of Moulin Rouge to
create the visually lush romantic tragedy set in a
dreamlike Paris of 1900.
2013 saw the pinnacle of his cinematic career so
far: The Great Gatsby. The work took on F. Scott
Fitzgerald’s masterpiece novel and transformed
it into an exuberant fountain of cinematic
fantasy that transfixed moviegoers.
All four films are noted for their lavish details
and their blending of stage musicals and the
silver screen. And all four works have been
“mashed-up” in our resident production, BAZStar Crossed Love. The immersive production
is filled with soul-stirring music, exuberant
dance and evocative scenery. Guests can even
enjoy cabaret-style seating on the stage, literally
becoming part of the action.
FUN FACTS ABOUT 'BAZ':
• T
he Palazzo Theatre was completely
remodeled to accommodate “BAZ,”
with new cabaret-style seating.
• A
n avante-guard production of “BAZ”
was initially staged in Los Angeles
cabarets – and proved to be hit destined
for Las Vegas.
• “ BAZ” was featured on this season
of “Dancing with the Stars” during
Vegas Week, with a performance by
Bonner Bolton & Sharna Burgess.
S
ome say you can learn a lot about artists from their childhood. When it comes to Baz Luhrmann — the
filmmaker who rose to international fame with his opulent and frenetic retelling of Shakespeare’s classic tale
in 1996’s Romeo + Juliet — it might surprise many to learn that he was raised in a remote village in Australia, very
far from the glitz of Hollywood. But his mother owned a dress shop and taught dance, and his father ran a movie
theater, so he was surrounded by creativity from his earliest days.

Las Vegas
with LOVE
Spotlight on artist Laura Kimpton
You can’t miss Laura Kimpton’s stunning LOVE sculpture in our Waterfall Atrium
— the monumental, twelve-foot-tall, ruby red metal letters that provide a perfect
photo backdrop.
Kimpton, who is known for her mixed media installations and sculpture, rose to
distinction thanks to her large-scale art that first debuted at the 2009 Burning Man
festival in Black Rock, Nevada. She draws from her desire to question traditional
views on social interaction, invoking through her art a reaction and discussion
which ultimately completes her projects.
“LOVE,” one piece from Kimpton’s Monumental Word Series, was originally
featured at the Las Vegas Life is Beautiful festival in 2016, before it arrived at The
Venetian and The Palazzo -- its intended home.
The alphabetical figures also contain symbolism in a human dimension.
“LOVE is about being free to love who you want, the way you want,” says Kimpton.
“The bird stamps that perforate the letters represent every person’s quest to follow
their dreams, which is the message that I hope will inspire people as visitors
interact with the piece. Las Vegas is the city where people pursue their dreams, and
this sculpture will act as a touchstone for this pursuit.”
To add to the wondrous mystery of “LOVE,” Kimpton was born dyslexic, making
her expressions of giant, gleaming letters even more rich in meaning and beauty for
casual observers and art lovers alike.
Enjoy Kimpton’s installation during your visit, and be sure to share your photos on
social media as you declare what “LOVE” means to you.
"LOVE is about
being free to love
who you want, the
way you want."

hidden secrets
The Venetian and The Palazzo are filled with eye-popping wonders all about, from our stunning lobbies to the evocative
halls of the Grand Canal Shoppes. However, some of our most amazing attributes take a little extra looking to find.
Here’s a sneak peek at some of our fantastic hidden secrets. They’re yours to keep to yourself, or to share with friends.
Mojito for 2, The Dorsey
CHECKLIST: THE DORSEY
The Dorsey is a high-design, memorable cocktail spot for the worldly, curious,
and engaged. This new bar is the perfect place to pop-in for a meticulously
prepared drink or settle in for the evening with friends. When you drop by,
we’ve created a checklist of our favorite gems at The Dorsey.
T H E L I B R A RY
At the back of the bar, you’ll find the library, a tucked-away hideout,
perfect to watch the world go by. It’s made all the more pleasant with its
fireplace views… and a blaze that isn’t at all what it seems.
P R E STI G E AT T H E PAL AZ ZO
Located high up on the 23rd floor of The Palazzo, our Prestige lounge is a true Las
Vegas luxury. In fact, Architectural Digest recently named Prestige at The Palazzo
“one of the 10 incredible hotels you should splurge on a club-level upgrade.”
Starting with bubbly prosecco at check-in, every aspect of the Prestige experience
is just as impressive as the 12,000-square-foot VIP lounge. This popular amenity
features daily continental breakfast with coffee and tea in the morning, and a
complimentary cocktail reception complete with appetizers every evening. On
weekends, there’s an extended cocktail service including a bloody mary bar, wine
receptions, and live piano entertainment.
COWO RKI NG LO U NG E
The Congress Center is the perfect backdrop for our innovative new coworking
lounge, presented in conjunction with Zappos. The one-of-a-kind amenity features
1,170 square feet of working space, complete with Wi-fi access, charging stations,
four private phone rooms, and a private conference room that seats six. This is no
ordinary hotel business center by far… rather, it’s a comfortable, relaxed enclave
outfitted in stylish furnishings from Restoration Hardware.
The Coworking Lounge is located on level two of Congress Center and is open seven days
a week from 9am until 5pm.
D I G I TA L A R T
Pay attention to the eight screens located throughout the bar.
The Dorsey features stunning digital artworks — each evolving over
time — from artists such as Marilyn Minter, Laurie Simmons, Jason
Salavon, and Poyen Wang.
BOOZE 'N JUICE
Definitely the freshest drink in town. It starts with a shiny Granny
Smith apple, which is put through a juicer and topped with a spirit of
your choice.
PENICILLIN
This drink will cure all that ails you. It was created by NYC barman Sam
Ross, who helped to create The Dorsey’s cocktail menu. This one is a bit of
a sensation. In fact, the New York Times included the drink in its list of
11 essential drinks of the "modern cocktail revival."
Contact the Front Desk to upgrade your stay to a Prestige suite.
PUNCH BOWLS
These serve four to six people. It feels good to share, after all! There
are four to choose from, but we’re partial to the Creole Punch, which
features rum, pineapple, ginger, citrus… with the unexpected addition
of allspice and nutmeg.

Interested in joining the excitement of the casino floor, but consider
yourself a gaming novice? Beginner's luck needs to start somewhere!

Sometimes you need a little pick-me-up. This tribute to New York’s
takeout coffee culture is a jazzed-up version of joe, starting with a cold
brew coffee, and the addition of rum, vanilla and the Italian digestif
Amaro CioCiaro.

safety ጁ
security
The Venetian and The Palazzo are equipped with a state–of–the–art fire protection system, the highest quality
smoke detection system, automated sprinklers, and a public–address system with speakers throughout the resort
and in each and every guest suite. In addition, we have a trained staff ready to assist you. In the unlikely event of
an emergency, it is important that you know what to do.
Special Assistance
If you feel you will need special assistance during
an emergency situation, notify the Front Desk or
Security as soon as possible. Please touch the “Front
Desk” button on your In–Suite telephone.
Upon Arrival to Your Suite
When you arrive at your suite, locate the emergency
exits on your floor. Each floor includes emergency
exits at the end of the hallway. It is important that
you find the emergency exit before an emergency
occurs. To help remember the location, walk to the
emergency exit from your suite.
Liability
The resort’s liability for guest property is limited
by the State of Nevada Innkeeper’s Law. Valuables
may be stored at no charge in your In–Suite safe.
For more information, please touch the “Operator”
button on your In–Suite telephone.
Locate the Emergency Exits
Counting the doors between your suite and the
emergency exits will help you remember the
location and distance. We have included three extra
exit signs located at the bottom of the wall near the
floor. In the event of heavy smoke, the only fresh
air available will be low to the ground. The low exit
signs will help you reach the emergency exits.
Locate the Nearest Fire Extinguisher
Each floor of The Venetian and The Palazzo is
equipped with fire extinguishers. It is important
that you know the locations of the closest fire
extinguisher to your suite. Read the Emergency Exit
Diagram. An emergency exit diagram is located on
the entry door of your guest suite. Reviewing the
map will acquaint you with the location of the
emergency exit.

If You Discover a Fire
If you discover a fire, immediately close all doors. If
possible, close all the doors around the fire to keep
it from spreading. Place a wet towel, cloths, sheets,
blankets, or bedspreads at the base of your door. The
towels will help to prevent smoke from entering
your suite.
Report the Fire Immediately
To report a fire, please touch “0” and tell the Resort
Operator your name and suite number.
Large Fires
Your safety is of the utmost concern during a fire.
Do not take unnecessary risks. In the unlikely
event of a large fire, exit the building through the
emergency exits.
Stay Calm
It is important that you do not panic. During a fire,
the ability to think clearly may save your life. The
public address system, with speakers placed in every
guest suite, will broadcast important instructions.
Evacuation Procedures
In the event of an emergency evacuation, first
test your suite entry door by placing the back of
your hand against it. If the door is cool, open it
carefully and check for smoke. If the hallway is
filled with smoke, stay in your suite and shut the
door immediately.
Feel the Corridor Walls
As you proceed to the exit, stay close to the corridor
walls and low to the floor if the hallway is dark and
filled with smoke. The air close to the floor is clearer,
cooler, and cleaner. Remember the number of doors
to the exit and look for the emergency lights placed
low on the wall near the exits.
Exit Cautiously
Test the exit door with the back of your hand before
opening it. If the door is hot, do not open it. If the
door is cool, open it slowly and check for smoke. If
there is thick smoke in the stairwell, immediately
close the door and either return to your suite or
proceed to the exit at the other end of the hallway.
If the stairwell is safe, exit the building.
Avoid Elevators
NEV ER US E THE ELEVATO R DU R IN G
A FI RE EMERG ENCY.
Emergency Exit Destinations
Emergency exits are to be used for evacuation
purposes only. Stay calm and proceed cautiously
to the ground level emergency corridors and exit
the building.
Blocked Exits
If your exit is blocked or filled with smoke, try the
emergency exit on the opposite end of the hallway,
past the center lobby of the floor.
If You Cannot Leave Your Suite
In the event that you cannot leave your suite, it is
important that you stay calm and think clearly. Fill
your bathtub with water and wet towels, blankets,
and sheets to place at the bottom of your guest
suite entry door. This will help prevent smoke from
entering your suite. Fill wastebaskets with water to
re–moisten the wet cloths.
For Our Disabled Guests
Visually–Impaired Guests
If you are in a suite and aware of a fire emergency,
wait for instructions over the public address system,
or contact the Resort Operator. If you are in a public
area, wait for instructions over the public address
system. If an evacuation is necessary, contact the
Resort Operator for instructions and assistance.
Wheelchair Guests
If you are in a suite and aware of a fire emergency,
wait for instructions over the public address system.
In the event of an evacuation, proceed to the
emergency exit. Again, check doors for heat and
corridors for smoke. If the door is hot, or if there
is heavy smoke in the hallway, stay in your suite. If
there is heavy smoke in the stairwell, either return
to your suite or proceed to one of the other exits on
your floor. If the emergency exit is safe, proceed to
the stairwell landing and remain calm. Be careful
not to block exit doors. Security will then respond
and assist you.
Casino Fires
If a fire should occur in our casino, restaurants,
meeting rooms, banquet rooms, or any of our
attractions, immediately locate the nearest
emergency exit. Remember to stay calm, do not
panic, and follow the cautionary procedures in the
Safety Services section of this directory.
