A ratio is a quotient of two numbers. It is used to compare these numbers. The ratio of a to b can be
written as:

*The ratio is written A:B to indicate the order of the numbers! Order matters!
Rate: is a special ratio in which the two terms are in different units.

Unit Rate: is when a rate is expressed through a quantity of one; the value of the rate.

Unit Rate is often a useful means of comparing ratios and their associated rates when measured in different
units. The unit rate allows us to compare varying sizes of quantities by examining the number of units of one
quantity per one unit of the second quantity. This value of the ratio is the unit rate.
