“As they were marching out, they came upon a man
of Cyrene, Simon by name; this man they pressed
into service to carry his cross.” MATTHEW 27:32
The Lord calls us to love God and to love our
neighbor. Every day we are given opportunities to
love our neighbor and help him “carry his cross”.
These
opportunities aren’t usually big events; they
are usually ordinary occasions like holding the door
open for someone, helping someone carry their
groceries or just listening to a friend. The most important thing is putting the other person’s needs
before our own and not expecting anything in return.

Palm Sunday
April 9, 2017
Dear Friends,
Every year on Palm Sunday, we hear the account of the
Passion of the Death of our Lord, Jesus Christ. Let us
ponder this sacred event of God’s love for us… as we
respond to His constant call: Lord God, be my help.
Remain close to me and fill me with Your Spirit, so that
all I say and do will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to
Your glory and praise.
Take time to refresh the life of the Spirit that has been
given you. Then witness your faith like disciples and
believers throughout the ages. Be assured of my
prayers for you and for your dear ones particularly during
this Lenten Season. May the good Lord bless you with
wisdom and peace. Please pray for me.

neglect can help parents and other adults take action
more quickly and help prevent further abuse. Adults who
spend a lot of time with kids – parents, teachers, family
members – should be on the lookout, as children who
have suffered from abuse may experience guilt, anxiety,
learning difficulties, aggression or self-destructive

HOMELESS MINISTRY MEMBERS AND
SJN PARISH FAMILY
Our next outings will be on Saturday, April 15.
We are not going out on Easter Sunday.
We are in need of volunteers and hot food onSaturday
This means rice or pasta dishes with chicken or beef, ex.
spaghetti with meat, arroz con pollo and other casserole
dishes with meat. Meatballs from the frozen food section
are easy to cook and can be added to other dishes. Please
bring these in a disposable aluminum pan.
Hamburger soup, snacks, hard boiled eggs (cooked for at
least 10 minutes), canned sodas, cases of individual
water bottles, and individually wrapped sandwiches, i.e.
ham & cheese, turkey & cheese, or PB & J sandwiches
are always welcomed.
Please bring your food donations between 2:00 and 3:00
p.m. to the church pavilion which is located between the
school and Resurrection Hall.
The group departs for the Miami Rescue Mission at
3:30 p.m. Come and share in this wonderful experience.
Children must be at least 14 years of age and must be
accompanied by a parent. God bless you.

DE LOS DESAMPARADOS (HOMELESS)
Las próximas salidas serán sábado, el 15 de abril.
No vamos a salir el domingo de resurreccion.
Necesitamos toallas para los desamparados de la
calle. Tambien tenemos mucha necesidad de
botellas de agua y comidas caliente. Es decir arroz
o pasta con pollo o carne, como arroz con pollo,
spaghetti con picadillo o otras comidas que tengan arroz/
pasta con carne. Sandwiches de jamon con queso, pavo
con queso,
mantequilla de maniz con jalea,
sodas, y bocados siempre son apreciados. Sopa de
hamburguesa siempre es bienvenida.
Por favor traer sus donaciones entre las 2:00 y 3:00 de
la tarde al pabellón que esta localizado entre la escuela
