What is your
favorite kind of
weather? Why?
My personal favorite kind of weather is stormy weather. One
thing I like about stormy weather is just how fascinating the
storms are in general. The second, and probably my favorite
thing about it is, I get to track the storms on my radar. The final,
and probably most important given the current drought, is that
when it storms it rains a lot.
Clarence Kelly, 4th grade, Miller Perry Elementary School, Ms. Jeffers
My favorite weather is snow. I like snow because it’s really fun to
play in snow. I like to play in it all day until it is time to go inside.
My sister will come play in it too. We build snowmen and have
snowball fights. We also make snow angels. My favorite part of
snow is building snow forts. My sister and I will hide from our
stepdad who’s waiting to attack us with snow. We’ll wait there
until we think it’s safe, but usually it’s not. He’s always waiting
and dumps snow all over us with a bucket. It’s cold. Right after
changing into warm clothes, we drink a big cup of chocolate. I
can’t wait for snow.
Miranda Collier, 5th grade, Weber City Elementary School, Mrs. Webb

like making a snow fort. I also like throwing the snowballs. I like
to hide so the snowballs can’t get to me.
My favorite kind of weather is snow. I love snow very much
because I love to play in it! I like to build snowmen, have
snowball fights, and go sledding at my barn. Once my friend
Abby got snowed in at my house for four days because the
roads were so icy. We had a lot of fun. We had snow ball fights
with my dad and made a tiny snowman. Another reason why I
love snow is that we have snow days and delays. I love to make
and eat snow cones and snow cream. I can’t wait for the first
snow!!!
Leah Gagliardi, 5th grade, Weber City Elementary School, Mrs. Webb
My favorite kind of weather is rain. I love to stomp in the mud

so soothing to listen to.

sweetened hot cocoa to drink on snowy weather days. I also
have a sled, and I love to sled on snowy weather days. On
some snowy days I will make a snow angel. I love snowy
weather days.
My favorite kind of weather is warm, sunny weather. I like warm,
sunny weather because if the temperature is warm enough than
you can swim. There are also many other summer weather
activities that are lots of fun. Such as outdoor volleyball, football,
bike riding, and there are many more. Sunny weather also gives
you a chance to spend some time outside to do almost anything
you want. I love warm, sunny weather.

My favorite kind of weather is in the winter. I like winter because
when it snows we get to have snow days. Me, Maddy, and Zeke
like to build igloos and forts. We like to have snowball fights and
go sledding. That’s why I love snow in the winter.
My favorite weather is rain. I love getting wet in the rain. Plus, I
love listening to the rain pour down and slide off the roof. Most
importantly, rain gives wild life water to live. In conclusion, rain is
just the best weather that is out there.

My favorite kind of weather is when the sun is not too bright, and
it still gives off a little heat, but not too much heat. I love when a
slight breeze blows the golden leaves off of the tree, and when
it is the perfect temperature for a warm coat or for a sweatshirt
without burning up or shivering because of the cold. The reason
I like this kind of weather is because it is perfect for playing
outside in, or getting cozy on the couch and reading a book.

Emily Thompson, 6th grade, Weber City Elementary School, Mrs. Sanders
My favorite type of weather is warm weather. I love that kind of
weather because you can do almost anything in it. You can run,
swim, play basketball, play football, go to the park, and many
other things too. I hate it when it is cold outside because all you
can do is stay in the house and do nothing. This is my favorite
type of weather.
Blake Calton, 7th grade, Pennington Middle School, Mrs. Litton/Mrs. Edwards
My favorite kind of weather is cold weather, in the winter. I like it
because you can sit by the fire and drink hot chocolate with your
family. It’s a fun time of the year. You get to play in the snow
with your family, too. I like spending time with family during
snow days.
Emily Hensley, 7th grade, Powell Valley Middle School, Ms. Johnson
My favorite kind of weather is snowy weather. The reason I love
snowy weather is because you can play in the snow and make
snow balls. When I fall in the snow it’s a soft landing. The other
reason I love snowy weather is because it’s so fluffy and soft. It
might freeze your hands when you don’t wear gloves, but it feels
so good to have something cold on your hands like snow. That’s
my favorite kind of weather.
Madison Jessee, 7th grade, Pennington Middle School, Mrs. Litton/Mrs. Edwards
My favorite kind of weather is rainy weather on cloudy days. The
reason I like it is because it calms my nerves. It helps me clear
my mind, which helps me think. If it’s rainy during the nighttime,
it helps me sleep. I think it is very beautiful weather.
Emily Scott, 7th grade, Pennington Middle School, Mrs. Litton/Mrs. Edwards
Why is warm weather so important? If not for warm, sunny days,
everything would be dead and greyish-black! But no one wants
that! There are elderly people who love their flowers and people
who love to see what nature is all about. If I had to pick what my
favorite type of weather is, it would have to be a warm, sunny
day when it’s light all the way up until nine at night. I like how
I don’t have to worry about overdressing or underdressing for
that matter. I just throw on a pair of shorts and a cut-off shirt and
have a jolly good time. I enjoy the end of the day when the sun
goes down and the lighting bugs come out, and all the kids in the
neighborhood come out to catch them. I love when the day’s full
of nothing but wonders in the wind, and I want to do nothing but
fish. After that, I go get a bunch of friends and play in the creek
and catch minnows and watch the day unfold. I’m tired and want
to go home, lie down and rest so that I can have another day like
that one.
