What is your favorite kind of weather? Why? My personal favorite kind of weather is stormy weather. One thing I like about stormy weather is just how fascinating the storms are in general. The second, and probably my favorite thing about it is, I get to track the storms on my radar. The final, and probably most important given the current drought, is that when it storms it rains a lot. I like to play in it all day until it is time to go inside. My sister will come play in it too. We build snowmen and have snowball fights. We also make snow angels. My favorite part of snow is building snow forts. My sister and I will hide from our stepdad who’s waiting to attack us with snow. We’ll wait there until we think it’s safe, but usually it’s not. He’s always waiting and dumps snow all over us with a bucket. It’s cold. Right after changing into warm clothes, we drink a big cup of chocolate. I can’t wait for snow. We had snow ball fights with my dad and made a tiny snowman. Another reason why I love snow is that we have snow days and delays. I love to make and eat snow cones and snow cream. Emily Scott, 7th grade, Pennington Middle School, Mrs. Litton/Mrs. Edwards Why is warm weather so important? If not for warm, sunny days, everything would be dead and greyish-black! But no one wants that! There are elderly people who love their flowers and people who love to see what nature is all about. If I had to pick what my favorite type of weather is, it would have to be a warm, sunny day when it’s light all the way up until nine at night. I like how I don’t have to worry about overdressing or underdressing for that matter. I just throw on a pair of shorts and a cut-off shirt and have a jolly good time. I enjoy the end of the day when the sun goes down and the lighting bugs come out, and all the kids in the neighborhood come out to catch them. I love when the day’s full of nothing but wonders in the wind, and I want to do nothing but fish. After that, I go get a bunch of friends and play in the creek and catch minnows and watch the day unfold. I’m tired and want to go home, lie down and rest so that I can have another day like that one.
