Holiday Well Wishes.

Best Holiday Gift Ideas for 2016
By- Cadence Orange
We all know that choosing gifts for your loved ones
tends to be challenging. But
I’ve made a list of fun gifts for 2016. All of these gifts are
under $20 making them really affordable.
1.
Mason Jar Tumbler ($9, amazon.com)
Mason Jars are popular in the kitchen and for DIYs, so
it's no wonder they're just as awesome as a plastic
tumbler. Fill them with candy canes and chocolates for a
festive touch.
2.
Faux Tablet ($15, amazon.com)
If your younger siblings, cousins, or any other child you
know are too young to have their own iPad, an LCD ewriter lets them scribble notes, then wipe 'em away with
the touch of a button. Perfect for keeping little ones
occupied on long car rides to grandma's house.
3.
Top Tags ($12, amazon.com)
The infamous time when you lost your luggage will
never repeat itself thanks to these luggage tags. Attach
them to even the most generic suitcase, and you'll be
able to spot yours immediately.
4.
Mutt Magnets ($10, amazon.com)
Doggy rear-end magnets look so hilarious on the fridge
and will make any pet owner's tail wag. The set comes
with six magnets, including a fire hydrant.
5.
Party Poppers ($8, amazon.com)
These ball-launchers make a fun last-minute gift for
people who're almost too old to be sitting at the kids'
table. Squeeze the belly of the unicorn and watch a foam
ball fly.
6.
VR Viewer ($15, store.google.com)
You can finally explain the whole VR thing to your
mom once she has her own cardboard viewer. This one
is a cheap and easy starter kit — even grandma will be
able to use it.
7.
Makeup Kit ($5, elfcosmetics.com)
Every teen girl (and her mom) is going to want this
sparkly eyeliner kit under the tree this Christmas
morning.
8.
Surfside Scramble ($7, amazon.com)
Spelling becomes entertaining with this tile-letter
game. Make words with the lettered flip-flop tiles, and
rack up points for things like creating the longest word.
Can you spell A-W-E-S-O-M-E?
9.
Seasonal Soap - (Hand in Hand)
($6, target.com)
Each of these holiday-scented bars of soap donates a
month's worth of clean water to a child in need. Plus,
they're supes-cute!
10.
Wooly Ornaments - (available in stores)
($3, target.com)
These adorable sheep ornaments look like balls of
yarn, and you are going to want them on your tree this
year. Plus they are so cheap, you can get ‘em for
everyone! I hope this gave you an idea on what to get
this year. Happy Holidays!
I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving this
year. During this time, I hope you all spent time with your
family, friends and loved ones. Hoping that everyone enjoyed
all of their holiday traditions. Enjoy all the different foods.
Since Christmas and New Year’s Eve are approaching, I am
wishing everyone gets what they want this year. Try to enjoy
one another and be safe. So, I hope to see happy smiles after
these holidays. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year
(2017) to you all.

What Do You Want For Christmas?

What I liked About Doctor Strange
By: Duncan Huber
I was curious on what our 5th and 6th graders
wanted for Christmas this year and this is want they told
me. Wishing you and yours a great holiday season and
hoping you get the gifts you are dreaming of.

The special effects in Doctor Strange were

If this were mythology, I would think it to be factual.
All the magical spells and places are cool, and
sometimes I try to see if I could pull of those spells.

perfect movie for you. This teaches a good lesson for

this was rather interesting.
Easy-No-Bake Pilgrim Cookie Hats
By- Shea Ogle
Since our 5th grade is studying all about pilgrims, I’ve
decided I’d show you how to make easy no-bake Pilgrim hats.
(It’ll take you 5 minutes)
Ingredients:
 White chocolate chips
 Orange food gel
 Keebler Fudge Stripes cookies
 Rolo chewy caramels, unwrapped
 Yellow M & M’s
1.
2.
In a small microwave safe bowl, melt the white
chocolate chips in the microwave for 30 secs until
smooth. Stir in the food gel until combined and
orange. Using a spatula, transfer melted chocolate
to a small Ziploc bag and snip off a corner.
With the chocolate-covered side of the Keebler
cookie, facing up, pipe some of the dyed chocolate
in the center. Place a Rollo on top, forcing the
chocolate to squish out, forming a thick ring. If
not, pipe a ring around the bottom. Dot a small
amount of the melted chocolate onto an M & M,
then place it up against the Rollo to form a buckle.
3. Allow the “glue” to set for 5 or so minutes and enjoy!

We would like to wish all of our December
birthday people a wonderful day!
When our Founding Fathers met in 1787, one of the
things that was decided was to let states pick their own
voting dates. This led to “electoral chaos”. When they met
again, it was decided to fix this. So, Tuesday was the chosen
day based on their lives and time in history and has seemed
to work for a long time.
Underwater Drones:
Underwater drones have become a great
conversational topic because they are opening up a whole
new exploration for “citizen scientists”! Now, people can do
exploration work and discover many remarkable things which
prior could only be uncovered by scientists on an expedition.
The price tag on this “ROV” (Remotely Operated Vehicle” is
$900. Maybe your favorite Aunt will get you one for your
Birthday!
Here are some facts on Underwater Drones:
-Trident is the newest model - can dive about the length of a
football field
-Very fast and agile
-Designed to be able to add new software
-Has 4 hours of battery life
Pizza Making Robots:
With all of the technological advances being made, I
guess that it was going to happen soon enough. Robots have
started making pizza! At Silicon Valley’s Zume Pizza, it’s not
humans making all of the pizza. The Pizza dough travels
down a conveyor belt. Machines then add the sauce. After
that, the robots slide the pizza into an 800 degree oven.
The restaurant is hoping to soon add robots that can
make the dough, add cheese and toppings, and take the
pizzas out of the oven. Lastly, the robots will cut them into
slices. I have no doubt that it will happen soon!
We would like to thank
everyone that helped with the gently used shoe
fundraiser, we had collected 1,800 pairs of shoes.
