String Art 1 Honour: Basic Patterns
INSTRUCTIONS
The following basic patterns have been developed as a resource for the String Craft 1 Honour. Their use is not mandatory. Folks are welcome to
adapt them - add more lines and circles or delete / not-use some.
All patterns are based on an A4 sized Base Board.
The designs are typically geometric designs. These have been created using Right Angles, Acute Angles, Obtuse Angles and Circles.
Readily available software was used - Microsoft Word 2007
The lines were created by using the ‘Insert’ > ‘Shapes’ > ‘Lines or Oval’ facility of MS Word 2007.
To determine the spacing for the pins / nails / string-holes, we have used the ‘Dash Dot’ and the ‘Long Dash Dot’ of the ‘Drawing Tools’ >
‘Format’ facility of MS Word 2007.
The intention is to use the ‘dot’ as the marker point for the pin or hole.
While the application of these patterns is well below the standard of advanced work, they are deemed adequate for this level. In a sense, their use
gives Pathfinders a fast-track to a completed work of String Art.
Folks are welcome to ‘have a play’
Most of all, have fun and give creativity free rein.
