Historical background :
According to historical documents the land was used for military purpose in 1300 a.c. There was a tower for enemies
sightings connected to other towers in Balbano and Ripafratta.
The house was built in two different stages, in 1400 and 1500 a.c, and for about three centuries it was used as a shelter
for prelates and wealthy pilgrims walking to Rome through the Via Francigena.
At the beginning of the 18th century the property was acquired by the noble family of the Orsetti, from Lucca, and later on
by the maquis Marnsi. The property then became a farm and hosted farmers working the land until the acquisition by the
current owner
