Lesson Information
Overview
In this lesson, students will learn that the number and size of coins/dollars is not the
same as their value. Students listen to a poem, identify decisions made with money, and
explain why the decisions were good or bad.
Objectives
Students will be able to:
• Identify coins and their values.
• Compare and contrast values of coins
Vocabulary
Dime, Dollar, Nickel, Penny, Quarter, Value, Worth
Suggested Extension Activities
1.Have students draw pictures of coins and write their names.
2.Have older students work in pairs to make up their own coin combinations and
see which one is worth more.
