OUTDOOR RECREATION
Outdoor Recreation offers an active
SCUBA program that includes
equipment rental, monthly dive trips
and orientation and certification
classes. For more information on the
trips and classes, please see the
brochure specific to these activities.
Located just north of the base on the ocean front, are three fully
contained 3-bedroom, 3-bath residential facilities with WiFi
capability. Smoking is not permitted in the cottages. Pets are
prohibited on premises. Reservations are accepted up to 365
days in advance. When the three hundredth and sixty fifth day
falls on a day Outdoor Recreation is closed, the reservation can
be made on the following day of business. The cottages are
rented on the premise of vacation/recreational lodging.
Renting for the purposes of hosting large parties, group events
or anything of that nature is not authorized. The following
rental packages are available:

**A deposit of 50% of the total reservation fee is required
at the time of making the reservation with a credit card**
Requests for reservations longer than the 7-day package will be
handled on case-by-case basis via ODR management.
Customers are advised these reservations will require the entire
rental fee to be paid at time of reservation and fees are subject to
the same cancellation policy as all other rental packages.
Reservation Cancellation/Change Policy
When the reservation is canceled or changed within 30 days of
the reservation date, 50 percent of the deposit will be refunded.
When the reservation is canceled or changed within seven days
of the reservation date, the entire deposit will be forfeited.
Management must approve reservation requests beyond 7 days
(cannot exceed 14 days) and/or where more than one cottage is
requested. Reservations which meet these criteria must pay
100% of fees up front.

for per customer with SCUBA certification.
Active Duty personnel eligible to participate in the Single

RENTAL
GUIDE
Air tank fills require a minimum of 24 hours notice prior to
desired pick up time. Please do not leave voicemails on
Wednesday for Thursday pick up, as we are closed on this
day and will not receive the message until the following
day. Maximum of 4 tanks per person at one time.
Squadron Loan Program
Squadrons are authorized Free use of Outdoor Recreation’s
Loan Programs once per year.
Squadrons must be assigned to Patrick AFB to utilize the free
Squadron Picnic Kit. Equipment loan is ONLY authorized for
official squadron functions. Private Organizations are not
authorized loan equipment. Retirements are not considered
an official squadron function, therefore not authorized the use
of the Squadron Picnic Kit.

Customer satisfaction, safety and risk
management are of paramount importance to
us. When you check-in, please be prepared to
spend time with us to complete the required
paperwork, inspect your equipment, receive
important safety tips and instructions for use
and to read applicable policies pertaining to the
properties we manage on behalf of the Air Force.
When you are returning equipment please be a
good steward for those who will follow by
ensuring it is clean and in the condition you
received it.
Outdoor Recreation is a proud supporter
of the protection of the environment. Please help
us to preserve the wildlife in our local area and
abide by the lighting restriction policies during
the turtle nesting season of May 1 to November
30, and not disturbing turtle nests. The beach
and riverfront are awesome recreating areas, but
not so when they become littered with trash,
broken glass and discarded fishing tackle. Please
use the waste receptacles provided.
The Florida climate is built for outdoor
enjoyment; however, it can be extremely
dangerous. During the months of May to
November rapid-moving storms with strong
winds, water spouts, and torrential rain,
lightning and black flag heat conditions are
common. Please take a moment to become
educated on what to do to avoid injury or illness
as a result of these conditions. The staff at
Outdoor Recreation will do their very best to
forewarn customers about the possibility of
hazardous weather conditions.
The Outdoor Recreation rental facility is
the hub of all operations outlined in this guide.

Cancellation Policy
When the reservation is
canceled within 48 hours of the
reservation time, 50 percent of
the deposit will be refunded.
When the reservation is

event of unforecasted severe
weather conditions resulting in a
return to base, a pro-rated
refund will be calculated by the

Watercraft
Equipment in this category is highly subject to weather conditions when the user wishes to utilize the riverfront on Patrick AFB
property. The same guidelines outlined in WATERSPORTS apply to the use of the kayaks, canoes and pedal boats. Boats will not
be rented out when wind speeds are in excess of 15 miles per hour or when there are phase one or two lightning conditions present.
Renters are strongly encouraged to turn back to base immediately upon hearing thunder or seeing lightning. Personal Flotation
Devices (PFDs) are mandatory and provided free of charge with boat rentals. Per Florida State Law, children under the age of six
are required to wear a PFD at all times while on a boat.

Fishing
Located in the Outdoor Recreation building is a variety
of hook and tackle and frozen bait. Fishing equipment
will not be rented for use on Patrick AFB property during
phase one or two lightning conditions. Anglers are
strongly encouraged to cease fishing immediately and
seek shelter upon hearing thunder and/or seeing
lightning. BREVARD COUNTY IS THE #1 AREA IN
THE U.S. FOR LIGHTNING STRIKES! Anglers are
highly likely to see manatees (sea cows) in and around
the outdoor recreation docks. Please refrain from
feeding these animals per Florida State law.

Equipment Damage
& Destruction Policy
Customers are responsible for return of the
equipment in the condition it was received. Issues
will be annotated on the equipment rental form at
the time of rental to ensure the customer is not
held liable for a per-existing condition. Damaged
equipment is the responsibility of the customer
and he/she will be charged the cost of repair and
or replacement, to include transportation fees, per
the reasonable government estimate. Negligent
and/or willful destruction of equipment may
result in the loss of rental privileges indefinitely.
Watersports
Equipment in this category is highly subject to weather conditions
when the user wishes to utilize the riverfront on Patrick AFB property.
Equipment will not be rented out when wind speeds are in excess of 10
miles per hour or there are whitecaps visible on the river. Equipment
will not be rented out when there are phase one or two lightning
conditions present. Renters are strongly encouraged to turn back to
base immediately upon hearing thunder or seeing lightning. Personal
Flotation Devices (PFDs) are mandatory and provided free of charge
with the rental of the equipment below. Renters will not be permitted
to leave the shoreline without wearing the device.

We have a range of bicycles available for rent. Please ensure
you follow the state laws and Patrick AFB policies for use of
this equipment on roadways. Helmets are mandatory on
Patrick AFB property. If cycling on sidewalks, please give way
to walkers and runners. Please do not take the bikes through
grassy or unkempt areas as this will result in flat tires.

This service is available to locations on Patrick AFB
property and must be included in the reservation
request for scheduling purposes. Equipment will be
delivered prior to noon on the day of the reservation.
The renter is responsible for return of the equipment.

Picnic Areas
There are three picnic areas available. Renters
must be in possession of a valid Department of
Defense ID card and are responsible for the
guests on the property for the duration of the
rental period. Tables Beach is located just north
of the main gate on Highway A1A. Chevron
Park is located on base, next to the Manatee
Cove Family Campground on the river side of
Rescue Road. The Dockside picnic area is
located in front of the Outdoor Recreation
rental building on the riverfront. Reservations
are accepted not earlier than 90 days in advance
of the requested date. If the ninetieth day falls
on a Wednesday when we are closed, the
following day is when reservations will be
accepted. A $50 cleaning fee will be charged to
the renter’s household account if the area is not
left clean. Additional fees may apply if there is
negligent damage to the area.
TABLES BEACH PICNIC AREA
SEATS 96: One pavilion with electric, restrooms,
outdoor showers, beach access, sand volleyball,
horseshoes and a grassy area for games.
CHEVRON PARK PICNIC AREA
SEATS 120: Two pavilions with electric & rain
guards, fishing pier, restrooms, outdoor showers,
playground, sand volleyball, horseshoes, and a
grassy area for games.
DOCKSIDE PICNIC AREA
SEATS 96: One pavilion with fishing pier,
restrooms and watercraft rentals.
$25 rental fee for all areas. Cancellation is
required 72 hours prior to reservation in order
to receive a full refund.
Home Maintenance
Renters are highly encouraged to use this equipment in accordance with the manufacturer’s guidelines. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) should
be worn while utilizing the yard maintenance
equipment. Each generator has a GFI attached.
This device is to be used at all times while operating
the generator and is not to be removed.

Notice: Active Duty & Active Duty Reservists who
reside in PAFB housing are authorized FREE loan
of lawn mower, blower, weed eater and edger. Loan
is for a 24-hour period, if still checked-out after the
24-hour loan period, daily rental fees will apply.
Picnic Kits
These items are available in direct support of organized squadron
morale, welfare and recreation activities. The rental period does
not exceed 24 hours. Each squadron is authorized one picnic kit
per calendar year. The squadron is responsible for the pickup,
cleaning and return of the equipment.
Camping
Renters must be prepared to allow a minimum of 30 minutes
check-out time when renting an A-liner or Casita camper. This
will enable staff to give detailed instruction on how to use and
clean the items and to ensure the camper is attached to vehicle
correctly. The campers are authorized for use within the state of
Florida. Camping packages include: 1 each tent, lantern, camp
stove, mess kit, coffee pot and 2 or 4 sleeping bags and mattress
pads. **A-liner and casita camper requires a 2” trailer ball and a
7-pin round wire connector **

Manatee Cove Family Campground
Located directly along the historic Banana River, the campground
currently has 156 full-service sites with 30/50 amp capability, ten
primitive camping sites, two laundry and shower facilities, a 24-hour
community center and a private beach. Placement is on a first-come,
first-served basis with the exception of active duty personnel.
Potential guests are highly encouraged to call ahead and inquire about
availability during the months of November thru February when the
campground traditionally maintains close to full capacity. For detailed
information about the campground’s policies, amenities, programs
and services, please refer to the brochure specific to this facility.

Recreation Vehicle and Boat Storage
This facility is located on the southern most perimeter of Patrick AFB,
next to the golf course and marina. Fees are due in advance and may be
paid in 6-month or 12-month installments. There are two separately
gated areas with different lock combinations. These combinations are
changed on April 1 and October 1 each year. New combinations are
provided to the renter upon verification of currency in fees, annual
contract and vehicle registration.
In the best interests of property protection and security, renters are
highly encouraged to refrain from giving out the combination. Renters
are advised that requests to temporarily vacate the lot are possible due to
military operations. Outdoor Recreation cannot guarantee an alternate
storage site on the installation. It is the renter’s responsibility to ensure
contact information is kept up to date in order to receive important
e-mail notifications, phone and/or postal. Failure to respond accordingly
may result in the vehicle being reported to the installation Security
Forces as abandoned. Vehicles will be towed at the owner’s expense.
Waiting lists are maintained separately for each category of storage size.

Fishing on Base
Fishing is permitted along the riverfront and
beaches of Patrick AFB. Anglers fishing for
saltwater species from shore, or from a structure affixed to shore, must have a shoreline
fishing license. Florida residents can obtain
this fishing license for free. Non-resident
anglers are also required to have a saltwater
fishing license to fish from shore or from a
vessel. The fee for non-residents is $17. Go to
