New Zealand Streetstock Championship
Friday January 20th and Saturday January 21st 2017
at Stratford Speedway, Flint Rd, Stratford
This event will be run according to the Speedway New Zealand Rule Book.
All drivers MUST hold a current SNZ license and all vehicles MUST comply with the current
Speedway New Zealand Rule Book and Supplementary Regulations.

Please pay attention to rules E2-3-1 to E2-3-5.
Lap Scoring:
Electronic lap scoring by means of the Dorian system will be used for the New Zealand
Streetstock Championship. Competitors must have a charged/working transmitter mounted
correctly on the car prior to vehicle checking.
Duplicate Numbers:
No duplicate numbers will be allowed. It is a condition of entry that competing vehicles
arrive at vehicle checking displaying the numbers allocated to them and that the numbers
comply with the rules of Speedway New Zealand.
Noise:
The maximum noise limit of 95 dba will be enforced.
Rainout:
If the weather prevents the event being contested on the dates scheduled, the Promoter
reserves the right to hold the event on the next available day or weekend. Sunday 22nd
January 2106 has been reserved as a rain out date.
Event Sponsor:
Event sponsor decals may be required to be affixed to each competitor’s vehicle.
Smoking:
Smoking is not permitted in the pit area or on the dummy grid at any time.
Alcohol:
Alcohol is not permitted in the pits before, during or after racing. There are full bar facilities
available in the clubrooms which will open once racing has finished
Food and Refreshments:
Food and refreshments will be available at the track on Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

There will be two free gate entries per tow vehicle

If you are posting your entry form, to ensure that these are received in time, please send
through a week prior to the entry closing date.
There will be a $50 NON REFUNDABLE late entry fee for entries entered after December 23rd
2016, also in the event that you have forwarded an entry form and you discover that you
cannot attend, you MUST notify the promotion of your inability to honour this contract. The
promotion reserves the right to alter the format and closing date after consultation with
officials, if deemed necessary.
Practice:
Gates open at 4pm Thursday 19th January 2017, practice 5pm to 6pm.

Scrutineering:
Vehicle checking will be held at the track from 12pm until 4pm
NOTE:
E2-3-1 Any race vehicle in the designated pit area on the day/night of a race meeting is
deemed to have entered the events on the meeting program.
E2-3-2 Any race vehicle and/or its components may be selected for a technical inspection,
on a random basis, or as advised at the drivers briefing, or as mandated herein.
Drivers Briefing:
Drivers Briefing will be held in the clubrooms at 5:00 pm sharp. Attendance at the drivers
briefing is mandatory. Any driver not attending will be subject to exclusion from the event.
Grand Parade:
The grand parade will commence at 6pm. All competitors are expected to take part.
Racing Starts:
7:00 pm
Qualifying Groups:
The cars will be split into four groups (dependent on entry numbers). Competitors will
accumulate points over three heats and the top six cars from each group will proceed to the
finals of the NZ Streetstock Championship on Saturday night. These groups may be
condensed into three groups or expanded into five groups dependent on numbers and at
the discretion of the promotion. The number of competitors qualifying per group will alter
accordingly.
Qualifying Heats:
Qualifying heats will be 12 laps. Each group will compete in three heats as per SNZ rules.
Run Off:
In the event of a tie on points per group, the tied vehicles (from that group) will be required
to take part in a “run-off” to determine who proceeds to the finals for the Championship. In
the event of a finalist being unable to compete in the New Zealand Streetstock
Championship the following night, the next highest scoring competitor from the withdrawn
vehicles group will move up.

Pit Gates Open:
The pit gates will be open from 12 noon
Scrutineering:
Scrutineering for all Streetstock competitors will be held at the track from 2pm to 4pm.
NOTE:

Repechage:
The next 26 highest Competitors on the points table who did not qualify on Friday night will
compete in one 12 lap repechage. The starting order for these races will be based on the
points from qualifying night (highest points scorer at the front). First and Second place
finishers in the repechage will make up the final 26. (based on four group format). If, at the
discretion of the promotion, the groups have to be condensed or increased, then the
number of competitors moving through to the final from the repechage will alter
accordingly.
New Zealand Streetstock Championship Final Heats:
There will be three 15 lap heats. Points will accrue over these three heats as per SNZ rules.
The top point’s scorer will be the winner.
King of the Mountain Championship:
Competitors finishing in positions 2 through 26 in the repechage along with the next two
highest points scoring non qualifiers will compete in the King of the Mountain Streetstock
Championship which will be raced over three twelve lap heats.
Consolation Races:
If there are enough cars remaining, consolation races will be held for those competitors that
have not made it through to either the New Zealand Streetstock Championship or King of
the Mountain Championship.
Award Presentations:
Trophies will be presented on the infield after the event.
