The Kellogg-Briand Pact of 2015
Yesterday, after "world leaders" in Paris signed the supposed "historic" Climate Change pact, they applauded themselves.
Supposedly there were tears of joy. Yes, actual tears. Not sure how green-friendly all that salt water in the middle of Paris is, but
there you go.
I suppose I'd be weeping tears of joy too if I had managed to secure an agreement that extorts billions of dollars from the United
States of America. Especially when the representatives from the United States were so eager to be extorted.
That sucking sound you're hearing? It's your hard-earned money being drained from your pocket and sent overseas to countries
"impacted by Climate Change."
Unlike the San Bernardino terror attack, where President Obama waited five days to address the nation, Barry tripped all over
himself to make a speech about this "historic" and ultimately useless pact.
I skimmed through the transcript. It's about what you'd expect. Lofty words about progress, prosperity, security. Flimsy promises
of economic utopia where jobs are being created out of pollution-free thin air. Yet no word about all those jobs that will be killed by
this moronic agreement, and of course, no word about the King's ransom the American taxpayers will have to pay.
The Great Prophet of the Weather closed his remarks thus:
"Verily I say unto thee. Lo the heavens will be carbon-free and the earth below a paradise. The wolf also shall dwell with the lamb,
and the leopard shall lie down with the kid; and the calf and the young lion and the fatling together; and a little child will the big ears
shall lead them."
Whoops. Wrong text.
Sorry.
Here it is:
"Today, thanks to strong, principled, American leadership, that's the world that we'll leave to our children -- a world that is safer and
more secure, more prosperous, and more free. And that is our most important mission in our short time here on this Earth."

Over on the Right Scoop, soopermexican posted a video of an MSNBC reporter's giddy exclamation that this "Global Warming"
accord was just like the moon landing!!!
Sooper observed:
Yeah, NO you're WRONG. It was America that made it to the moon, not an international cabal of communist collaborators. And
going to the moon was an act, it was doing something. An agreement on the Global Warming hoax is literally an agreement to DO
LESS STUFF. It's like a hipster agreement ? we're patting ourselves on the back for agreeing to be lazy and work less. So NO, Tony
Dokoupil, it's not like the moon landing. At all. In nearly every respect. Idiot.
And he's right. It's nothing like the Moon landing or the Mars rover landing.
In fact, if I had to make a comparison, I would venture to say this non-binding agreement whose sole purpose was to extract billions
from guilty Western Countries over their inability to control the weather is far more like the Kellogg-Briand Pact of 1928.
What's the Kellogg-Briand Pact you ask?
Well, in a nutshell, the Kellogg-Briand Pact was an agreement, created in Paris ironically enough, and signed by a number of nations
back in 1928 that outlawed war.
In attendance in Paris to cobble together this pact to outlaw war were representatives from Australia, Belgium, Canada,
Czechoslovakia, France, Germany, British India, the Irish Free State, Italy, Japan, New Zealand, Poland, South Africa, the United
Kingdom and the United States.
By 1929, Afghanistan, Albania, Austria, Bulgaria, China, Cuba, Denmark, Dominican Republic, Egypt, Estonia, Ethiopia, Finland,
Guatemala, Hungary, Iceland, Latvia, Liberia, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Nicaragua, Norway, Panama, Peru, Portugal, Romania,
the Soviet Union, the Kingdom of the Serbs, Croats, and Slovenes, Siam (AKA Thailand), Spain, Sweden, and Turkey signed on to
the pact as well. Eight additional countries joined after that: Chile, Costa Rica, Danzig, Greece, Honduras, Luxembourg, Persia and
Venezuela.
Leading the way to outlaw war was the 1928 version of John Kerry, Secretary of State Frank Kellogg and French foreign minister
Aristide Briand.
Unlike the Iran nuclear deal, this silly pact was actually ratified by the United States Senate as a treaty. In fact, all but one of the 86
Senators voted for it.
Keep in mind, this 1928 pact was to outlaw war.

Outlaw war.
How'd that work out?
The problem with "progressives," is they really believe they can change mere mortals into better angels. They really believe that
heaven on earth is possible. Utopia is in their grasp. We aren't imperfect creatures; we simply haven't been given proper direction
and instruction to exercise our perfection.
When you don't believe in God, but rather see the divine in earthly things, it's not that much of a stretch to believe you can outlaw
war and every single human being on the planet will simply go along.
Human beings are not and will never be perfect on this earth.
But not only that, we are not able to change the nature of man.
And man, a fallen creature, flawed and sinful, cannot -- no matter how many nations sign a "pact" -- become perfect.
What's more. Man, a fallen creature, is also finite. He has no power over the weather. He doesn't command the seas, the elements,
the temperature.
No pact cobbled together in Paris will ever alter the weather any more than the Kellogg-Briand Pact managed to alter humankind
into being pacifist and tame as fluffy bunnies.
Since the creation of man, there have been those who sought to be as gods. Those who presumed that there is no greater being than
man. Therefore, man is capable of altering creation because there is no Creator, no God, no Eternal. Only man.
It is the height of hubris.
And the Divine only laughs at our foolish, deluded arrogance.
