Jack and Jill
Spring/Summer Sale 09’
Hello, welcome to the first bi-annual children’s consignment sale. I am really
excited and looking forward to a great start. The best way for everyone to have a
great sale is spread the word. Let all your family, friends, and co-workers know
about the sale. Make copies of the flyer and pass them out to your church,
daycare and employment. The more people who know, the better your clothes
will sell!!
The consigners receive 70% of your total sales minus a $6 dollar consigner fee.
Each consigner must be very clear when pricing items. Only whole dollar
amounts need to be placed on the items. Remember only very gently used
clothes will be accepted. This is for everyone’s benefit!! When you are
selecting your items pick items people would want and be ready to buy. If your
item has damage, stains worn looking it will be placed to the side for you to pick
up at the end. Please be understanding in this matter.
You must consign at least (10) acceptable items to be eligible for a pre-sale pass.
Please call or e-mail to schedule an appointment for items to be dropped off. The
deadline for consigners to sign up is Friday, March 27th. Also, please be sure to
let me know if you want to volunteer to work the sale. Again, I will not have that
schedule until closer to the sale date.
Items to bring:
Clothing: Spring/Summer clothes only. This can include light weight clothing
such as: wind breakers, light sweaters (spring like)
Wind pants and light weight long sleeves. These items will be closely observed
during check-in.
Remember that Name brand clothes will sell well. Examples:
Gap, Old Navy, Gymboree, Polo, Nautica, Tommy, Kelly’s Kids, Rags Land,
Chez Ami etc…Smocking items also sell great..
Maternity items will be accepted and are usually a great seller. Again,
remember the items need to be gently worn.
All items must be SMOKE free. This for your benefit because people want to
buy clean clothes even though they are gently worn.
How The Items Must Be Tagged
This is very IMPORTANT!!! If the items are not tagged correct, then there
is a chance your item could get lost…
Each clothing item must be on a hanger..
The hanger should face you like a “?”.
All buttons should be buttoned..
All items must be ironed. This is a must. They will sell better.
Tags should be filled out clear and complete.
Remember pricing should not be too high but if it is new then sell for at least
half of the original price.
Only wire hangers will be accepted…You can get bulks of children hangers at
the dollar store.
Items that need to be pinned must be pinned with safety pins only at the top of
the hanger. (No straight pins will be accepted)….
Pin tags at top left corner of item as if you are wearing it…
Shorts or acceptable pants must be pinned at the top also.
Best way to make sure you pin the items correct. ? Facing you, tag pinned at
top left shoulder as you are wearing it (see below).
Clothing must be sorted by sex, size newborn, 3-6 mth, 12mth, 24 mth, 2t, 3t,
etc.
All clothing must be grouped by sex and size. The best way is to tie each set
together.
If you have any questions please feel free to e-mail me.
Shoes:
Should not be scuffed or show excessive wear. Please clean them as well. Try
to pick the best. Examples: sandals, church shoes--mary-janes, loafers, tennis
shoes--be sure they are in excellent condition. These are just a few examples.
Be sure to tag them, so the tag will not get lost. If they are small shoes, place
in a zip-loc bag and use clear packing tape to put the price tags on.
Shoes must be tied together or in a zip-loc bag
. This is so
your items do not get lost!!!
You will need to have them separated by BOY OR GIRL.
We will group the shoe sizes but be sure to label the exact size 11m or 11 1/2
or size 3-6mth etc. on the tag.
Other items suggested:
Hair bows or headbands. Again place these in a zip-loc bag with the tag tapped
on the outside.
☺ Anything that you would buy at a consignment sale. Keep this in mind when
you are getting your items together.
☺ Monogrammed hair bows or headbands. Single initial only.
Baby items &Furniture
This is a good seller…
Strollers, car seats, pack and plays, swings, bouncy seats and any other baby
items…
Baby furniture, dressers, changing tables, toddler beds, bedding sets.
All bolts, screws and any parts must be taped to the item in a zip-loc bag. You
do not want these parts to get lost….
All items must be in working condition…meaning have batteries and all parts
with it.
Bedding sets need to be in a bag together and visible for the buyer. A zip
storage bag would be great….
☺ Remember there are always grandparents, aunts, child care givers needing
extra items such as these…
☺ You can also take a picture of your bedding so the buyer can see it put together
or give a good description on an index card next to the price tag.
Toys, DVDs, etc.
Please clean all toys well. Buyers do not want to buy dirty toys.
All parts must be with the item
They must be in working condition… Remember to keep this a great sale WE
all have to work together on this.
☺ DVDs must be in a case with a nice label on them. If you do not have the
original case, it is ok to just make a label for it. Make sure they are not
scratched.
ANY games, game systems, etc. --these are always good sellers, again make
sure they are labeled and all parts together in a plastic bag. A large zip-loc or a
clear storage bag. Please use the clear packing tape to tag the outside.
Baby toys, riding toys--bikes, power wheels, scooters---make sure they are in
working condition and free of dirt. Include any rechargeable batteries please…
Kitchen sets and doll houses are good suggestions also…
Remember this is a good time to clean house…
Pricing Instructions
Print or type neatly. If the buyer cannot read it they may not buy it.
BE SURE your tag is filled out completely and your seller# and item# are on
there.
It is also good to do an inventory sheet for yourself.
This is going to be a very organized sale, but it is always good to have your
own inventory sheet.
Briefly describe your item…ex. If there is a name brand put it on the
description. Red POLO boy’s shirt. A small description is good for you and
the buyer. (in the space provided on the tag)
Also, please circle yes or no if you want your item to be sold 50% off on
Saturday. This is totally up to you but please be sure to circle yes or no.
Fill in all blanks on the price tag.
CONSIGNER # must be very clear.
Remember only whole dollar amounts….
When you are pricing your items, try to remember about what you paid and if
it still has the tags: 50% of what you paid. Or a little less. Try looking on ebay as a guide…
You will get a consigner # when you sign up for the sale..
This will be your # for now and all future sales…
Each seller will be asked to sign a consigner agreement form when you drop off
your clothes. This is to make sure everyone understands the rules and this will
also help this be THE BEST consignment sale in Central Georgia.
Anyone who wishes to do so can donate items not sold to charity.
We will be donating to The Jones County Department of Family and Children
Services. Also, depending on the amount left over we will give to a battered
women’s shelter in Central Georgia. You will let me know this when you drop
off and sign the agreement form.
