NANTES, FRANCE
Nantes is an important city in north-west France, located in the
Loire-Atlantique department of the Pays-de-la-Loire region.
With its position by the sea, the city developed into one of
France’s major ports. While maritime and naval activity have now
moved downstream to Saint-Nazaire, the entire estuary has
joined forces and turned Nantes-Atlantique into the metropolitan
centre for the west of France. The estuary has a healthy economy
that has been undergoing radical change.
The estuary itself, the fourth most important industrial region in
France, is home to an array of engineering companies (maritime,
mechanical, electronics, I.T.) as well as the food and timber
industries. In an environment which promotes get-up-and-go,
talent and success stories can be found in abundance.
A lively and active university city - the 6th largest in France Nantes is a pleasant town (‘Time magazine have voted it the
most livable town in France’) and also a very interesting town to
visit.
Traditional cultural events are programmed in Nantes, often
alongside some quite breathtaking creative innovations. This is
only to be expected from the city that was the birthplace of Jules
Vernes and the cradle of surrealism.

Numbeo.com
It is rather difficult to find accommodation in Nantes, there is a
severe shortage for student rooms every year. We have contacts
with two student residences not far from the school, we will send
you information on that residence once you have been accepted
at the school. The cost of a room in student residence varies from
€250 to €300 per month depending on the residence. Rooms are
9m2 and include a toilet and shower. There is a shared kitchen
in each corridor. Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee rooms for
all students, but will help you by providing contacts of private
residences.
