Hot Sands March 2011 DUPAGE SHRINE CLUB A Message from Your President Raymond Redisi: I would like to thank all of the Nobles and their ladies who came out to last month„s meeting . With the great storm of 2011 and all the snow. The DuPage Shrine Club has 157 active members and I know that we are all involved in other Shrine business. It would be great for me to meet as many of the members as I could this year. We average almost 30 Nobles and their ladies. I would like to challenge you to join your DuPage Shrine club for at least one meeting in 2011. So come out to the shrine center on any of the first Mondays of the month at 6.30pm, have dinner and meet all of you friends. Onions are around the corner. Please pre-sale if possible. Last year Ernie Ritz, Perry Steward and Morris Bartlett led the club, great job guys. We hope you can do the same this year. The dates for onion sales are May 13, 14 and the 15. March 12th marks our first parade of the year. The Cruzan Coolers are fast and fun to ride so don‟t miss out on a chance to cruse with your club. I hope to see you at our next meeting on March 7, 2011 at 6.30 pm for dinner and 7.30 pm for the meeting. Please call me at 708 243-6003 or email at [email protected] Any member or their lady that would like to post an article for the Hot Sands email it to me by the 12th of every month (please articles for the good of DuPage Shrine Club only). It was suggested that the Club consider creating an “Alternate” position on the Board to serve as backup in the event we do not have a quorum present for a meeting. This would require a by-laws change, and may be considered at a later date. Day suggested that the Club consider the production and donation of an information kiosk to be located in the main atrium of the Shrine Center. This would serve as a source of information on Masonry and the Shrine to the many “outside” visitors to our facility. Day will research the feasibility of the project and report.
