DUPAGE SHRINE CLUB
A Message from Your President Raymond Redisi:
I would like to thank all of the Nobles and their ladies who came out to last month„s meeting . With the great storm of 2011 and all the
snow.
The DuPage Shrine Club has 157 active members and I know that we are all involved in other Shrine business. It would be great for
me to meet as many of the members as I could this year. We average almost 30 Nobles and their ladies. I would like to challenge you
to join your DuPage Shrine club for at least one meeting in 2011. So come out to the shrine center on any of the first Mondays of the
month at 6.30pm, have dinner and meet all of you friends.
Onions are around the corner. Please pre-sale if possible. Last year Ernie Ritz, Perry Steward and Morris Bartlett led the club, great
job guys. We hope you can do the same this year. The dates for onion sales are May 13, 14 and the 15. March 12th marks our first
parade of the year. The Cruzan Coolers are fast and fun to ride so don‟t miss out on a chance to cruse with your club.
I hope to see you at our next meeting on March 7, 2011 at 6.30 pm for dinner and 7.30 pm for the meeting.
Please call me at 708 243-6003 or email at [email protected] Any member or their lady that would like to post an article for
the Hot Sands email it to me by the 12th of every month (please articles for the good of DuPage Shrine Club only).
Yours in Faith,
Raymond Redisi

Old Business: The Club has been accepted as a participant in the March 12, Elmhurst St. Patrick‟s Day parade. The March 5, Forest Park parade is
still pending. Henrich discussed the Chicago Wolves hockey outing on April 2. Tickets are $22 each which includes game ticket, Wolves banner, and
round trip bus transportation to the game. If we have 125 in attendance, the Wolves will donate $500 back to the Club. Reservations will be accepted
only with full payment.
Redisi thanked everyone for their support at the January 16, Shrine Club Officers Installation brunch
Redisi asked if the Board felt sharing the Club O.V. with another organization was desirable. There was no consensus, and the idea was tabled for
discussion at a later date.
New Business: Onion sale dates are May 13, 14, & 15. The deadline for placing orders is March 31. Pre-packaged five pound bags of onions are
available this year at the same per pound price as ten pound bags. O‟Brien moved, Zimmerman seconded that the Club purchase 900 bags of onions

Pansino moved, Henrich seconded to approve the payment of our $401.00 insurance bill. Motion passed unanimously.
A letter from the Ladies Fashion Show Committer requesting a donation for door prizes was presented. Consideration tabled until next month‟s meeting. It was suggested that the Club consider creating an “Alternate” position on the Board to serve as backup in the event we do not have a quorum
present for a meeting. This would require a by-laws change, and may be considered at a later date.
Day suggested that the Club consider the production and donation of an information kiosk to be located in the main atrium of the Shrine Center. This
would serve as a source of information on Masonry and the Shrine to the many “outside” visitors to our facility. Day will research the feasibility of the
project and report.
