Other Curriculum Focus: Welsh, History and Geography
Welsh – To start to use the past tense to describe what you have been doing. Use preposition he/she to describe what someone else is
doing. Ask about someone’s family/say who is in your family. Use a range of questions (e.g. ble, pryd, beth etc.) Read story ‘Pel-Droed’
aloud, taking on different characters. Telling the time in Welsh.
Geography and History – Use Chromebooks to research geographical terms relating to rainforests and match to definitions. Use atlases
to locate rainforests. Label a diagram of the layers of a rainforest. Write a persuasive letter linked to the impact of deforestation.
Interpret a graph that demonstrates the effect of deforestation. Look at average yearly rainfall in the context of capacity.

Homework and P.E
Homework can be found electronically on the school website – www.nantyparcprimaryschool.co.uk
Homework - Will be given out each week, on a Friday. The homework set will mainly be based around
mathematics, however literacy or topic based homework will be sent out occasionally. Please can learning
logs be returned to school by THURSDAY, so that homework can be marked in preparation for the
Friday.
Spellings – 10 spellings have been extracted from your child’s work and sent home to be learnt
throughout the term. Test will be held during the last week before half term (week beginning 22.05.17)
P.E - This term we will be focussing on competitive sports and athletics.Please ensure P.E kits are
brought into school on Tuesday. P.E kits will need to remain in school for the duration of the week. We
may go outside this term depending on weather conditions. Please suitable footwear is brought to school.
