Up to December 2014, responsibility for roads policing in the MPS was split
between Traffic Operational Command Unit (OCU) and Safer Transport
Command (STC), the latter being jointly funded by the MPS and Transport for
London (TfL) through a special services agreement (SSA) under the provisions of
Section 25 of the Police Act, 1996.
In 2014/15, the funding arrangement under the SSA shifted to include the MPS

noted that for these reasons this force's response to your questions should not be used for
comparison purposes with any other response you may receive.
