Dear Friend:
I’m Dr. Guy O. Danielson, III from Precision Spine Care, and I would like to hear from

Number 1: How Much Experience
Does The Doctor Have?
Clearly, you want to feel confident that the doctor who treats your pain
has experience, and lots of it. But, how can you tell? You can always do
research on the Internet and/or ask friends and family to recommend
doctors they’ve had success with. Sooner or later, however, you will need
to make an appointment to meet with a doctor in-person. Especially if
you are considering surgery, come prepared with a list of questions like
these to address their recommendations:
 How many pain operations have you performed for people with my
condition?
 What percentage of these patients report satisfaction from a
successful outcome?
 What are my non-surgical options?
 Who would you recommend I see for a second opinion?
If a doctor balks at answering any of these
questions, it may indicate inexperience or a
poor track record. Top-notch surgeons will
never feel threatened when you ask
questions. Instead, they should welcome
them and answer with clarity and precision –
making sure that you leave feeling confident
in their responses.

Team Behind Them?
Success does not happen in a vacuum. As in any other profession, medical

Certified?
Most doctors who perform neurosurgery for pain advertise board
certification publically because it tells prospective patients they have at
least 4 years of specialty training beyond medical school.

Bedside Manner?
Obviously, you want to feel comfortable and cared for by your doctor.
Many patients of Dr. Danielson tell him they feel very comfortable and
they feel they can talk to him about anything. His patients feel like
royalty. By the way, if you go to see Dr. Danielson, he insists you call him
Guy. He doesn’t rush through an exam, because he likes to go deep and
get down to the core problem that’s causing your pain. Some doctors

Approach?

From the very beginning of his training, Guy has believed and promoted

Number 9: Is He Or She Truthful
About Lasers?
If a surgeon or chiropractor offers to treat your back pain with lasers,
please seek another opinion! “Laser spine surgery” is nothing but a great
marketing gimmick. Lasers work great for soft tissue eye surgery, but any
surgeon who says he or she uses it to cut bone is simply not telling the
truth. It makes no sense to use laser treatment for a number of reasons:
1. Although lasers can cut disc tissue, for a doctor to mechanically
grab a disc fragment to stop it from compressing a nerve is faster,
easier and obtains far more reliable results.
2. Because discs sit so close to the roots of the nerves, a doctor could
do serious, permanent damage by using a laser.
3. A surgeon can’t cut bone with one, so lasers are of no use at all to
decompress patients that suffer from spinal stenosis.
If you absolutely must see someone who tells you they use lasers for
spines, please be sure to ask whether they are board certified. Insist on
it.

without lasers. In addition, he’s developed pioneering technologies and
believes in the power of “alternative” treatments. One thing he would
never do is put a laser next to the nerves in your neck or spine.
