Transit System and Airports Metro The Metrorail system has six color-coded rail lines: Red, Orange, Silver, Blue, Yellow, and Green. The layout of the system makes it possible to travel between any two stations with no more than a single transfer. The Metrorail offers services starting at 5am on weekdays and enforces peak fares from opening to 9:30am and 3pm-7pm. There is a $1 surcharge for a paper farecard each way. Ronald Reagan National Airport (DCA) 2401 Smith Boulevard Arlington, VA 22202 Going towards NERC: How to Access the Metrorail Station from the Terminals: Take the BLUE line, traveling in the direction of Largo Town Center, to Metro Center. Take the 13th and G St. exit and walk across the street towards the Cathedral and Au Bon Pain. The 1325 G entrance is located directly to the left of the parking garage and Pizza Pino. • Terminal B and C: Use either of the two enclosed pedestrian bridges on the concourse level which connect directly to the station. • Terminal A: Exit the terminal to the street side curb and board any “Airport Shuttle” bus. At the stops for parking garage B and C (bus shelter #3 and bus shelter #5) you may access an enclosed bridge which connects to the Metrorail station. Going towards Airport: How to Access the Terminal from Metro Rail Take BLUE line from Metro Center Station traveling towards Franconia-Springfield. Exit at Ronald Reagan airport station; follow the signs to the covered walkways from the station. • Terminal C: Go to the north end of the train platform and exit the station. A pedestrian bridge connects directly to the Terminal’s concourse level. • Terminal B: Go to the south end of the train platform and exit the station. A pedestrian bridge connects directly to the Terminal’s concourse level. • Terminal A: Go to either end of the train platform, exit the station towards the parking garage. Take elevator or stairway down to street level and board any "Airport Shuttle" bus. • Elevator access: The elevator is located at the center of the platform. There is a sloped sidewalk at ground level which connects to both pedestrian bridges. Dulles International Airport (IAD) 1 Saarinen Circle Dulles, VA 20166-7506 Driving Directions from Dulles (IAD) to NERC • Exit the airport, heading northwest on Saarinen Cir • Continue on Dulles Airport Access Rd (signs for Washington) • Dulles Airport Access Rd becomes VA-267 E • VA-267 E becomes I-66 E (crossing into District of Columbia) • Take the Constitution Ave / US 50 E exit • Turn left onto 15th St., NW • Turn right onto G St., NW • 1325 G will be on your left Driving Directions to Dulles (IAD) from NERC • Go west on G St. until you reach 14th St. • Turn left on 14th St. • Turn right onto Constitution Ave., NW/US-50 • Continue straight, merging onto I-66 (crossing in to VA) • Merge onto VA – 267 W via exit 67 toward I-495N/Dulles Airport/Baltimore • Keep left to take Dulles Airport Access Road toward Dulles Airport • Dulles Airport Access Rd. will turn into Saarinen Cir. • Take Saarinen Cir toward ticketing and check-in Dulles’ terminals are not accessible via Metrorail, only Metrobus. A cab is the most convenient and quickest method of traveling to IAD. Taxis from Dulles International Airport to NERC will cost approximately $60.00. Union Station 701 First St. NE Washington, DC 20002 Directions from Union Station to NERC • Take RED line towards Shady Grove • Exit at Metro Center • Exit at 13th and G St, 1325 G entrance is located directly after Au Bon Pain and the Cathedral on the right. Directions from NERC to Union Station • Take RED line towards Silver Spring or Glenmont (First train car will place you closer to the Amtrak entrance) • Exit at Union Station.
