Dear
Further to your request under the Freedom of Information Act 2000, I am now in a position to respond
as below.
You asked:
I would like to know the following about how you deal with complaints filed against
pharmacists in your PCT for the period July 1 2010 to June 30 2011 ?
I would like to know the following about how you deal with complaints filed against
pharmacists in your PCT:
How many complaints have you had regarding pharmacists in your PCT?
How many of these were referred by members of the public?
Could you please provide details of the nature of the complaints received?
How many of these complaints were upheld?
How many complaints were referred to the health ombudsman?
How many complaints were referred to the GPhC?
How many complaints were referred to the judiciary?
How many cases were referred from the GPhC to your PCT?
What were the outcomes of complaints that were not upheld or referred to any of the bodies
mentioned above?
Our response:
One complaint received
This was not made by a member of the public
Complaint related to incorrect medication being dispensed by a pharmacist
This complaint was upheld and procedures were changed within they pharmacy and the pharmacist
was provided with advice.
