The monkey was his best friend. But the crocodile ‘s wife compelled him to bring the monkey home in order to get his heart. Though at first the crocodile was unwilling to do it, finally he decided to fulfill his wife’s wish. But the clever crocodile escaped from his trap and thus the crocodile lost a good friend. The crocodile also realised that he should not have listened to the words of his greedy wife. b) The monkey was very friendly. Though he had plenty to eat he felt lonely and was looking for a friend. He was very happy when he made friendship with the crocodile. Another quality of the monkey is his generous nature. He plucked fruit from the branches and gave them to the crocodile and gave some to carry home for his wife and children. Another important quality of the monkey is his cleverness and his presence of mind. When the crocodile told him that he was taking him home for killing him he did not lose his presence of mind and using his cleverness he was able to save his life.
