The Osmium high density fiber optic chassis is a modular and scalable system
comprising 19" chassis, blades and cassettes. It is designed to meet the challenges
faced by data center managers and designers relating specifically to minimizing
floor space usage and costs by deploying high density connectivity.
Osmium is capable of handling up to 210 LC ports per rack unit (RU). Users can
configure the density, in real-time, to meet the specific data center requirements
(e.g. port-count density) by varying the combination of connectivity modules and
blanking panels.
Osmium chassis provide improved design flexibility with manageable high density
connectivity through innovative design and manufacturing.
FEATURES
• Very high density – up to 210 LC ports per rack unit in its 2RU or 4RU versions.
The 1RU version offers a density of 180 LC ports
• Highly scalable – the Osmium chassis capacity can be adapted to actual needs,
through combinations of connectivity modules and blanking plates
• Superior transmission performance achieved through the use of MPOptimate
low loss technology micro cassettes with simple snap-in installation
• Sliding tray improves front access
• Integrated radius control that allows rear access and trunk support
• Hinged front cover, with a magnetic identification (ID) label.
• Rugged but lightweight steel & aluminum construction
• Color coded components provide a visual indication that distinguishes between
movable parts and fixed parts ­— for simplified installation
• Chassis can be installed quickly and simply by a single technician
• Warranted – when deployed by an approved TE Connectivity installer, LC and
MPO modules are covered under our 25 year system warranty (please see
