Newsletter . Welcome to the Spring edition of the Ullswater Steamers Kids’ Club Newsletter. We are busy preparing for the new spring arrivals due around the Lake. The local farmers are getting ready for lambing time. All the bulbs will be getting ready to flower and Sammy has been polishing the Steamers ready to show all the Spring delights to the visitors. Free travel for passengers on the 9.45am sailings but you must bring along a jar of marmalade! Celebrating the annual Marmalade festival at Dalemain. Themed LDNP Evening Commentary Cruises 7th July. Mountains & Valleys. Themed evening commentary cruises with a National Park Ranger. Departs Glenridding Pier at 6.45pm. Ticket price £12 adult, £6 children. Book in advance or just turn up. October Red Deer Rut 8th - 11th October. An RSPB escorted cruise from Glenridding to Howtown. Transfer to a minibus into Martindale to witness nature’s spectacle the Red Deer Rut. Departs Glenridding at 10.30am returning at approximately 3.30pm. £12.50 adult member and £14.50 non-member, children half price. Profits to RSPB. Book in advance. 20 15 Ghostly Galleon 31st October. Magic, monsters and mayhem onboard the Ghostly Galleon with magician Stu-Di-Doo. A 90 minute cruise departing from Glenridding at either 12.30pm or 2.30pm. Ticket price £12 per spook, under 3s free. Things To Do at Ullswater 'Steamers' Ullswater Valley is a spectacular place to visit whatever the season so, to help you plan your adventure with us, we have devised a small sample of things to do along the length of Ullswater connected with our ʻSteamer' cruises. Colour Me Answer the maths questions and use the key to colour in Sammy . Walk to Lanty's Tarn - This moderately easy walk, affording stunning views of the Ullswater Valley and Keldas, is an ideal spot to enjoy a sunny afternoon away from the hustle and bustle. Don't forget your camera you may spot a red squirrel! 3+1= Cycling Routes - Try out some of the great cycle routes with the Eden Cycling Guide. Both Pier Houses have cycle racks so you can leave your bike behind and link cruises with other walking routes or follow the guide and ride all the way. Skipper Your Own Vessel - A short stroll through Jenkins' Field will bring you to St Patrick's Boat Landing for Motor/Rowing Boat or Mountain Bike hire.
