DIRECTIONS FOR EDITING ONE BALLOON POP IN SMART NOTEBOOK 11 1. In Notebook Gallery, search for “balloon pop.” One balloon is one Flash file. You can copy and paste multiple balloons on a page. Colors are random. (To see an activity with multiple balloons, search for "homeroom attendance" in SMART Exchange.) 2. On a Notebook page, insert the balloon and an image and/or text you want to appear when the balloon is popped. (Examples: picture of student, check mark or X, Correct or Try Again, an answer to a question.) 3. Re‐size the balloon (if desired) by clicking and dragging the right arrow at the bottom of the balloon. 4. Arrange and re‐size the objects so that they will fit behind the balloon. 5. Group the objects that will go behind the balloon (optional). 6. Place the balloon in front of the objects or drag the objects into the balloon. 7. If the objects appear on the front of the balloon--see green balloon on right--select them and send them to the back layer (order). 8. Edit the text on the balloon by clicking the left arrow at the bottom. 9. Click and highlight the text; type in your text. 10. To center the text vertically, click to the left of the first letter and then press Enter until the text is centered. 11. To move the balloon and the object(s) behind it, first select the unit by using the multiple-select (marquee) technique. (You will not see a box around the balloon when it is selected; instead, you will see a “hand” indicating a link.) Move the unit by clicking and dragging. (You will not see the usual four-headed arrow.) 12. Copy/Paste the balloon and edit each new version. 13. Lock the units in place when you do not anticipate additional editing.
