Adult Book and Movie Group The group meets at the library on the third and fourth Friday of the month at 12:30pm. We meet to discuss the book on the third Friday, and on the fourth Friday we watch and discuss the movie. Refreshments will be served! Bring the little ones (0-5) to the library for story time with Miss Jen, Thursday’s at 10:30 or on Saturdays with Miss Sue at 11:00am! Stories, songs and crafts! Can Your Fines! All of November! Get rid of your library fines by donating some canned goods! Here's how it works: Donate 1 canned or non-perishable item and have 1 dollar removed from your fines, up to 50 dollars! So if you have $5.75 in fines, donate 6 items and your fines are gone! *Please note that the program only works on fines, not lost items. If you have lost items, please return them to the library and your fine will be dramatically reduced. Then you may donate canned goods to eliminate the remainder of the fines, but only once the items have been returned! Donations will go to Brunswick Cares Community Food Pantry. Only patrons with a Brunswick or UHLS library card may participate with one "Canning" session per patron. Adult Book Group The group meets at the Library on the second Tuesday of every month at 7pm to discuss a book of interest. New participants are welcome. The book selected for this month: November 11 —The Goldfinch by Donna Tartt December 9 — The Light in the Ruins by Chris Bohjalian Please call the library at 279-4023 if you need a copy of the book, or a ride to the programs. Holiday Raffle You could win a large (6ft) holiday tree and its ornaments! Raffle tickets are 1-$5, 5-$10 so stop by the library and purchase your tickets throughout November! The winner will be drawn during our Winter Festival Party in December! T/ween Club Book/Movie Discussion November 25th 2:30pm-5:00pm T/weens before Thanksgiving break, come to the library to watch and discuss If I Stay by Gayle Forman! While in a coma following an automobile accident that killed her parents and younger brother, seventeen-year-old Mia, a gifted cellist, weighs whether to live with her grief or join her family in death. Call or email the Library to let us know you are coming! There will be pizza but please read the book beforehand because there will be a discussion! There are copies at the Library, so stop by and pick yours up today! Registration Required as seating is limited. You can take the Route 11 bus, with a note from your parents to your first period teacher, to the library right after school, so please have your parents call or email the library that you will be coming! Knitting Club! Whether it’s knitting, sewing or crocheting, you are more than welcome to come to the library to work on your project! Share some techniques, tell a story, but most important make some friends while you work on creating something beautiful! The club meets every Thursday from 1:00-30pm. Here's your chance to volunteer at the library and make a difference in your community! What does the VTC do? You will come to the library at least two times a month after school. Then you will meet to discuss upcoming programs, (you get to choose what T/ ween Club reads/watches each month!) decide which books we should order for the Young Adult section, write book reviews that will go on our website, assist with fundraising, and even run our Crafternoon program for younger elementary students. So, if you love the library, or just love to read, or just want to be a part of something awesome, call the library to sign up for VolunTween Council!! *Please note that you can take the bus from the school to the library. But parents have to write you a note! New Materials You asked and we listened. The library Large Print, and DVD collection has expanded to include a traveling collection. So come to the library to check out new DVDs like Looper, Philomena and The Pirates!
