How To Use Protein Powder? Use______scoops of Beneprotein Powder® each day. 1 scoop Beneprotein = 1 ounce of protein STIR into: • • • • • Cooked cereal or soup Vegetable or meat stews Chicken,tuna or pasta salads Congee or curry dishes Scrambled eggs • • • • Rice or tapioca pudding Applesauce or pureed fruit Tea,Coffee,Juice,Milk or Water Nutrition Supplements like Nepro®, Ensure Plus®, or Glucerna® Stir one scoop into at least ½ cup (120ml) of liquid or soft foods. For best results with liquids: mix with a small amount of the liquid to make a smooth paste, then gradually add the remaining liquid while stirring. Sprinkle: Mix: • ¼ cup Protein Powder • 2 tsp cinnamon • ½ cup sugar or equal amount of sugar substitute Put into a shaker and sprinkle on: • Hot rolls /Danishes • French toast/Pancakes • Hot or cold cereals Storage Instructions • Store opened protein powder in a cool, dry place. • Do not refrigerate. • Write date on can when opened. Use contents within 1 month. • When mixed with prepared foods, use promptly or store appropriately. Spread: Mix: • 4 scoops Protein Powder • ½ cup non-hydrogenated margarine or cream cheese. Add herbs or honey (if desired) Spread on: • Rolls/Bread/Toast/Muffins • Vegetables • Pasta or Rice Note: Protein powders are not all the same. Talk to your dietitian before using a protein powder. Protein Powder Recipies High Protein Renal Pudding Yield: 2 servings Ingredients: ½ cup prepared Jello ½ cup cottage cheese ½ cup Cool Whip™ 4 scoops protein powder Preparation: 1. Blenderize cottage cheese until smooth. 2. Add Jello, Cool Whip, protein powder and blend until smooth. 3. Chill until set. High Protein Frozen Dessert Yield: 5 servings Ingredients: ½ cup protein powder ½ tsp vanilla ½ cup hot water ½ cup Cool Whip Preparation: 1. Blend powder, vanilla, and hot water until smooth. 2. Mix with Cool Whip. 3. Freeze in muffin tins or glass custard cups to make 5 servings. High Protein Shake Yield: 1 serving Ingredients: Preparation: 1 cup rice beverage, unenriched 1. Mix in a blender 2 scoops protein powder until smooth. ½ cup fresh or frozen strawberries, blueberries or canned peaches 1 tbsp canola oil 1 tbsp sugar or sugar substitute (optional) High Protein Flour For every cup of flour a recipe calls for, add 1/ 3 cup protein powder and 2-3 tbsp of extra liquid.
