4-H Clover Connection - For Your Information

4-H Clover Connection
June/July 2015
http://fyi.uwex.edu/adams4h/
The Fair is almost here! I hope all of you have had a wonderful summer,
and are prepared with your projects for the fair. The fair is a time for fun and
also a time for learning. Each opportunity we have while our projects are
being judged, can be a new learning experience. The judges are there to
help you so please utilize their expertise and knowledge for your benefit. Be
sure to really listen to the judges and ask them questions. We also need to
remember that the judges are people just like us, and they do their best to
help us learn about our projects. There are times we may get a surprise blue
ribbon, and other times we think our project should have received a higher
ribbon than it did. Again, both instances are learning experiences that we
can learn from. Getting a blue ribbon should not always be the goal, rather
looking at what was learned from doing the project. The following quote is
from 4-H Orientation:
“It’s better to be a blue ribbon kid and have a red ribbon project, than to be a
red ribbon kid and have a blue ribbon project.”
Have a great fair!
