WP Chief Minister reviews drought situation
President opens Muslim Cultural Complex
Pirith to mark SLI’s 55th anniversary
President Maithripala Sirisena opened the Muslim Cultural Complex of
the Department of Muslim Religious and Cultural Affairs at T.B. Jayah
Mawatha, Colombo. Minister M.H.A. Haleem, Rishad Bathiudeen, Rauf
Hakeem and State Minister A.H.M. Fowzie were present.

An all-night pirith was organised by the Sri Lanka Insurance to
commemorate its 55th anniversary and invoke blessings on the staff and
customers. Minister of Public Enterprise Development Kabir Hashim,
Deputy Minister, Eran Wickremaratne, Chairman, Hemaka Amarasuriya
and Managing Directors, T.M.R. Bangsa Jayah and Aruna Siriwardhana
were present. The ceremony was followed by an alms-giving to 55
bhikkhus the following day.

A special meeting to discuss the drought situation was convened under the
patronage of WPC Chief Minister Isura Devapriya at the Chief Ministry’s
auditorium. Chief Secretary, Daya Senarath, WPC Deputy Chairman,
Yasapala Koralage, Western Provincial Councillors, Kithsiri Kahatapitiya,
Nishantha Sri Warnasinghe and Ifthikar Jameel were present.
