Use the area in front of the building on Basin Rd. Do not use the bus court on the side of the building. When dropping off a student in the morning please disembark quickly and leave. Cars get backed up on Basin Rd. causing a safety hazard. Please wait in the parking spots. Do not park along the curb if you are not able to disembark quickly. Students dropped off or picked up across the street must cross with the crossing guard. Answer: Yes, but you will get to use it only during homeroom and the end of the day. Question: How will I carry all my stuff? Answer: You can carry a slim book bag with your belongings in it. No rolling back packs! Question: Should I use a lock on my locker? Answer: Yes! A combination lock is best. Your teacher will keep a copy of the combination in case you forget the numbers. Question: What supplies will I need this year? Answer: Your teachers will go over all of the supplies during the first few days of school. Question: What should I bring on the first day? Answer: A notebook, a folder, and a writing utensil Question: Who can participate in sports at GR? Answer: Everyone who has a DIAA physical on file with the nurse, has a 1.75 GPA, and attends the interest meeting for the sport. Some sports will have try-outs depending on the number of students who show interest in playing. Remember you can only try out if you meet the criteria above! Question: Where do I find a DIAA physical form? Answer: You can pick one up in the main office or print it from the website. Question: Can I get a physical at GR? Answer: Yes! First State Orthopedics will be here on Thursday, August 28th. The cost is $25.00 – cash only. It is the one and only time the doctors will be here. You can get a physical from your doctor or other facility (such as Med Express) at any time before the interest meeting for the sport you plan to play Technology Rules (including cell phones, IPOD’s, IPAD’s, netbooks, etc) There will be times when technology is allowed to be used in the classroom. The classroom teacher will let the students know. • • • • DO NOT leave your device unattended for any reason. The school will not be responsible for any lost or stolen devices. You may choose NOT to use your technology during class. It is recommended that you install the tracker app to find lost or stolen devices. Technology can only be used with teacher permission. If at any time the teacher feels a student is not using the technology appropriately, they will be asked to put it away for the remainder of the class period.
