Year 1 Back to Back Houses
This week, we went to the Back to Back houses. First we dressed up in different clothes; the
boys wore blue hats and a shirt whilst the girls wore dresses. Next we went outside to look
at the Victorian houses and we got to test out the beds they would have slept in. We had a
really good day! - Olivia
Year 5 Space Centre Trip
Earlier in the week we went on a fun and educational trip to the Space Centre in Leicester. We went around the centre looking for lots of facts about planets and I learnt that
Venus is the hottest planet because it keeps its heat, despite the fact that Mercury is the
closest to the sun. We went on a simulator where we landed on a new planet and it was
very enjoyable. At the end, we went into the planetarium and watched a film called
‘Astronaut’ and it was a fantastic and new experience. - Ebony
Year 3 Selly Manor Trip
On Monday, Year 3 visited Selly Manor to learn
about the Tudors and our topic on Henry VIII. We
got to look around lots of rooms and see how people
in Tudor times used to eat, sleep and dress. Tayah got
the try the servants bed and Ethan and Millie had
the chance to try on rich Tudor clothing.
In the afternoon, we all got to dress up in Tudor
clothes and have a go at playing some Tudor games
using spinning tops, marbles and juggling!
Easter Egg Hunt
Yesterday we had a new event - our Easter Egg Hunt! The children searched the outside areas using clues to help them find the eggs! It was great fun and the sun was shining. Afterwards the children had an egg and spoon race, some hot cross buns and did some colouring.
FSA Easter Disco
Earlier in the week, we hosted a disco with the amazing DJ Dave from DSR Roadshow. He
put on some great tunes and entertained the children and the adults as well! We all played
lots of games and it was a night well enjoyed by all. We also raised a lot of money for the
school which is always a bonus!
