Suffixes: Adjective and Adverb
Review A suffix a group of letters added to the end of a word to make a word
with a different meaning.
• An adjective suffix, such as –ful, –ous, –able, –al, –ic, –ent, –some, or –less,
changes a word into an adjective.
• An adverb suffix, such as –ly or –ward, changes a word into an adverb.
