T is amazing how many people try to build things •— from
businesses to bank overdrafts — on a bad foundation, and still

expect them to last.
W e have found t h a t some of the people who
use press tools try to do this.

Maybe they've never used press tools
Anyhow, all they seem to know about them is t h a t they
consist of a Punch and a Die, mounted on a base, with guides to keep
them in correct alignment.

Sometimes they don't even know about the
guides — they mount the tools straight
on to the press, which is a bad
foundation if ever there was one, for you have no guarantee of accuracy.
Or
they allow their skilled toolmakers to make the base and guides (i.e. the Die
Sets), as well as the Punches and Dies which are their real job.
This is
building on t h e sand, to a lesser degree, because it's wasting valuable time
and money.
Y e t it's no reflection on the toolmaker's ability.
He knows
the importance of the Die Set, b u t maybe he too doesn't know of the existence
