Year 11 Easter Revision 2017
As you may be aware we are running a programme of revision sessions for all year 11 pupils
during the first week of the Easter holidays, week commencing Monday 3rd April 2017.
Below is a timetable for the week. All pupils are expected to attend Maths and English
sessions. Option subject teachers whose names appear on the timetable will be running a
revision session at the time stated. For example if a pupil has Mr Mullin for Spanish in
option A, then he/she should attend Mr Mullin's revision session on Monday afternoon. If
one of your child's option subjects does not appear on the timetable, it may be because that
particular teacher is planning on running a session a little closer to the exam.
The following information should help pupils determine which option sessions they should
attend:
Option A is the subject that pupils have Monday p5, Thursday p1. Option B is the subject
that pupils have Tuesday (X week) p1, Monday (Y week) p3, Thursday p2. Option C is the
subject pupils have Wednesday (X week) p5, Tuesday (Y week) p1, Friday p3. Option D is the
subject pupils have Monday p4, Wednesday p3.
Snacks will be provided for pupils free of charge during the morning session at
approximately 10.30am in Newman canteen.
TRANSPORT: As school buses will not be running, the school mini bus will be available to
transport any pupils from the Kirkby area who otherwise may find it difficult to get to school
during the revision week. Two collections wil be made each morning: 8.20am at McDonalds
(Kirkby) and 8.40am at Kirkby Train Station.
IMPORTANT: During the first two weeks back after the Easter holidays, all year 11 pupils will
be sitting their next Pre-Public (mock) Exams.

English Literature Paper 1 PPE will take place on Thursday 20th April 2017 at 9am

English Literature Paper 2 PPE will take place on Friday 21st April 2017 at 9am

Maths PPE Paper 1 will take place on Thursday 27th April 2017 at 9am

Maths PPE Paper 2 will take place on Thursday 27th April 2017 at 1.30pm

Maths PPE Paper 3 will take place on Friday 28th April 2017 at 9am (11 A-F) and
1.30pm (11 H-R)
This is the most important assessment that year 11 pupils will sit to date as it takes place a
matter of weeks before the actual GCSE exams. It is crucial that all pupils prepare properly
for these exams as they are the last opportunity for us to determine the correct tier of entry

for all pupils.
I would be grateful if parents/carers would encourage their children to attend as many
sessions as possible next week as this is great preparation for the GCSE examinations which
begin on Monday 15th May 2017.
