I'm trying to apply buffers consistently in all areas of the Park as well as comply with the consent decree. If we were to apply the consent decree literally, the buffer is a 150 meter buffer around a point, not just the area perpendicular to the shoreline. Since the buffers usually do not appear on the closure request maps, I'm not sure how aware you all are as to how close the buffers actually come to Highway 12 in the different areas of the Park. Are we OK with buffers north of Buxton running along the highway while buffers between Ramps 27-30 being posted on the top of the dune so that people can see the closure from the highway. Any suggestions or concerns about consistency? Should the closure signs be run along Hwy 12 or be placed closer to the interior of the dune? Buffers for AMOY closures between Ramp 27‐30 do not go all the way out to Hwy 12. Should they? We have not done so in the past.
