Early in the 2014 season, we found
that apart from potatoes, the
vegetable & fruit plots are
nowhere near meeting 2014 targets
which now seem much too
optimistic. So we reduced 2014 &
2015 targets accordingly.

removed with a little knife work. They
sell at £1 a kilo
SOUP GRADE are not sold but used
directly by the Lost Garden team in
our weekly soups, along with our top
quality produce.
We’ve established and developed our
Waste Not Want Not brand of Cooks
Grade potatoes to encour-age
reductions in food waste, and our
popular Lost Garden soups –at least 20
bowlfuls a week in the Town Hall’s
Saturday Open House– along with
our recipes, hammer the message
home.
Cooks and Soup grades now make up
around 9% and 8% of our potato output
and rescue useable produce that
otherwise might have gone to waste.
