“Roll Up, Roll Up. The Circus is in town.”
This week we will be decorating popcorn cups and filling them with popcorn.
We will decorate carousel horses and circus tents and make cotton wool cotton
candy. We will also be playing carnival games outside.
This week we will be looking at the Ringmaster and the Magician. We will be
making a Ringmaster’s megaphone and decorating our very own Magician’s top
hat and magic wand. We will also do some magic painting.
This week we will be looking at some of the animals that perform at the circus.
We will make an elephant mask and an elephant with a whistle blower nose. We
will give a lion a woollen mane and give a seal some balls to balance on his nose.
We will also be jumping through fire hoops and balancing in a circus obstacle
course.
This week we will be looking at some of the other performers at the circus.
We will decorate an acrobat’s mask and make strongman dumbbells. We will
make feather headbands and try our hand at juggling and tightrope walking
This week we will look at “Bubbles and Balloons.”
We will be doing some balloon printing and make balloon faces. We will make
marshmallow balloons and try to do some balloon modelling. (Get ready for
some busting). We will also play with the bubbles outside.
Be prepared to get a little dirty this week.
We are going to do hand and footprints and do some finger painting. We will
work with water paints and do some circus weaving.
We will also play with cotton candy foam and make carousel cookies.
Over the next three weeks we will be looking at Clowns.
This we will make clown hats and decorate funny clown ties. We will paint our
faces like a clown and play with slime. We will also have clown dress-ups and
play funny faces.
This week we will make paper plate clowns and paddle pop stick clown puppets.
We will do some feather painting and dress up our own clown with material cutouts. We will also make a clown face biscuit.
This week we will make a clown from a plastic cup and make clown doorknob
hangers. We will do some clown weaving and do string painting. Every clown
needs a colourful flower, so we will make flowers from plastic cups.
End of Term Party
This week we will have a range of fun circus games and activities to enjoy.
Please bring a plate of food along to share for the party.
(Remember we are a NUT FREE ZONE)
A make-up day for the Ekka Public Holiday will be held on Thursday the 11th of August.
We will have a 2 week break.
Playschool will resume on Wednesday 5th of October.
