Alberta’s landscape encompasses mountains, prairies, desert badlands and vast coniferous forests. It has more than 600 lakes, and rich mineral deposits. In the west, the Canadian Rocky Mountain Parks have glaciers in the Columbia Icefields. The Waterton Glacier International Peace Park is a biosphere reserve that straddles the southern border with the USA Day 2: Calgary - Banff - Lake Louise - Jasper Area (B) After breakfast, we begin our journey into the Canadian Rockies, with our first stop in the chic mountain town of Banff. The peaks of Mt. Rundle and Mt. Cascade, part of the Rocky Mountains, dominate its skyline. On Banff Avenue, the main thoroughfare, boutiques and restaurants mix with château-style hotels and souvenir shops. After time to wander the streets of Banff, we continue our drive heading north to the “Diamond in the Wilderness” otherwise known as Lake Louise. The is time to enjoy the foreshore and gaze at the emerald waters and towering mountains. We then continue our journey through the Rocky Mountains to our overnight stop in the quaint mountain town of Hinton, outside of Jasper. Day 3: Hinton - Jasper - Kamloops (B) (B) - Breakfast / (L) - Lunch / (D) - Dinner Flight Cruise Train This morning we make the short journey to the alpine town of Jasper. Here, the whole morning is at leisure to explore the town at your own pace. Some mountain towns base their appeal on trying to be trendy. Jasper retains its timeless appeal by being unpretentious — an intimate community that originated as a railway town that just happens to be in the middle of some of the most gorgeous protected wilderness in the world. After time exploring Jasper we continue through the stellar scenery before making our way out of the Rocky Mountains and on to the town of Kamloops. Day 4: Kamloops - Whistler - Vancouver (B) Today our journey takes us along the Trans Canadian Highway towards the Ski town of Whistler. After arriving in Whistler, you will enjoy some time to eat or stroll around this picturesque mountain town. Whistler is only about 2 hours North of Vancouver, and roughly about 4 hours West of Kamloops. Over two million people visit Whistler annually, primarily for alpine skiing and snowboarding and, in Summer, mostly mountain biking. Its pedestrian village centre has won numerous design awards and Whistler has been voted among the top destinations in North America. Whistler’s urban landscape was specifically designed to accommodate the natural environment. Many of Whistler's bears have learned to do things like open car doors or hold spring-closed gates open so they can reach food. Some have even learnt to open the newspaper bins! We then continue down the North Shore. Highway 99, between Horseshoe Bay & Squamish, has to be one of the most beautiful roads in the area. With the ocean glimmering on the right and the mountains rising on the left, it is truly enchanting. On arrival into Vancouver, enjoy a panoramic tour of Vancouver before arriving at hotel. Day 5: Vancouver - Embark on cruise (B,D) Today, your private motor coach will transport you from the hotel to the Vancouver cruise port, to join your luxury 5 star Celebrity Cruise of the inside passage. Day 7: Ketchikan (B,L,D) You've never tasted salmon so fresh. If you're up for an adventure, take a canoe and nature trail excursion through the rain forest or a wilderness exploration followed by a sumptuous crab feast you can't resist (optional). Day 8: Icy Strait Point (B,L,D) For thousands of years, the Tlingit Indians have called this place home. Located near the city of Hoonah, and home to a historic cannery, Icy Strait Point also offers travelers the chance to view wildlife like humpback whales, orcas, seals, eagles, and brown bears, or to explore monuments to the region’s fishing heritage. Day 9: Juneau (B,L,D) Today we are ported in Juneau. Here's your chance to take a glacial dogsled adventure via helicopter in Alaska's capital (optional). A city that gracefully balances frontier ruggedness with cosmopolitan flair. Mendenhall Glacier, a river of ice measuring 1.5 miles in width and over 6 miles in length, is part of Juneau's Icefield, 1500 square miles of ice that feeds 38 glaciers and ready for you to take a float trip on it. Day 10: Skagway (B,L,D) The great Klondike Gold Rush lives on in Skagway's charming downtown of restored 19thcentury buildings and its historic railway.
