The Edward Jenner Unit has temporarily moved! The Edward Jenner Unit at GRH has been fortunate to receive a large donation from the Leukaemia and Intensive Chemotherapy Fund to refurbish and extend the existing services. In order to facilitate the build, the Edward Jenner Unit will be relocating to Ward 2b from Monday 13th June until late October 2011. This includes the Haematology, Immunology, Anti-coagulation and Haemoglobinopathy out-patient and treatment services. Phlebotomy services are relocating to a room within the main GRH out-patient area and a mobile facility based at the London Road entrance to the GRH site. Due to space constraints, the MRI is being moved to theatres compound. The following out-patient clinics will operate from Ward 2b throughout the duration of the works: Day Frequency Description Monday AM Weekly Haematology New patient clinic Monday PM Weekly Anticoagulation Clinic Tuesday AM Weekly Haematology Follow up clinic Wednesday AM Weekly Immunology and Allergy Thursday AM Weekly Haematology Follow up clinic Thursday PM Weekly Anticoagulation Clinic Friday AM 1st Friday of the month Haematology New patient clinic Friday AM 2nd Friday of the month Anticoagulation Clinic Please be aware that the London Road entrance will therefore be closed to traffic and pedestrians during the course of the building works. For more information on this work, please contact Estates Project Lead Julia Fern. The money has been donated by LINC (The Leukaemia and Intensive Chemotherapy Fund ) with the help of a grant from the Kay Kendall Leukaemia Fund. With the rise in VAT and other costs, LINC still need to raise a further £50K to ensure the unit is furnished to a gold star standard. If you would like to donate please visit the LINC website on www.lincfund.org
